Third inning was a great example of why we've been struggling, can't do the little things well. Leadoff single, can't get a sac bunt down, next batter hits into a DP. Bottom of the inning, they get a leadoff double, they do get a sac bunt down, and score on a sac fly. Then of course in the fifth we get a leadoff double, execute a bunt to move him to third, and stand him anyway. It's the little things that win in baseball. Anyway enough of my lunch break bitching, back to the bushwhackers.

Wow, three hits and a hbp and we have only 1 run.

Should have scored there probably, if dude catches the line drive he probably doubles up the runner on 1st anyway.

2-1 Bases loaded 1 out, new pitcher coming in.

We get the lead, and then walk two of the first three batters in the bottom of the inning

I'm actually watching this. Just tuned in before the hit that was caught. Very descriptive I know.

I thought we were ranked #8? I get it if ESPN uses a different poll, but why the big difference?

There are like four major polls, ESPN uses the Coaches Poll and it's a mess. We're ranked like 8, 8, 11, and 18. I've used the Baseball America poll all year, so I don't just use whoever ranks us higher

Baseball America must know their shite.

So, is Bama mostly a young team, or what?

Very young. There's a pretty good chance we only lose 3-4 contributors at the end of the year from the roster.

ETA: Only unfortunate thing about next year is all the home games will be in Birmingham. We'll lose the students and add extra travel while we build the new stadium. Definitely worth it in the long run though.

How many contributors does the team even have?

My baseball experiences include playing with friends (not on a team) in High School like every weekend (as simple as throw hit run score get laid), and trying to watch a few games before, but never being interested.

So losing only 3 or 4 contributors is pretty good?

If they're good, people will travel.

I meant extra travel for the team, they'll have plenty of fan support in Hoover. And Broker is right, 12 or so position players, 4-5 starting pitchers and 3-4 key bullpen guys.
