Not sure Bama takes another DB, Rakestraw or anyone else. But Edric Whitley is another one that Bama's staff are evaluating. Another late bloomer like Rakestraw.

By not sure they take do you mean they are turning down...like whats the point of offering him then?

It's recruiting. They "offer" a lot of guys that can't necessarily commit. Not sure that's the case with Rakestraw or not. I have no idea. But we're in a pretty big numbers crunch. Have to keep the possibilities open until some of the other targets play out.

If it is one spot for Rakeshaw, Frazier, Collins, and Jackson who would you think they would take or who would you take?

Alfred Collins.

Some 247 analysts are putting him on their personal 5-star lists after his Senior campaign and All-Star game performance.

I love me some Ennis Rakestraw, Jr. though.

frick, man.

You just can't do a drive by like that without posting a profile or some highlights. What you think this is, the LSURb?

2019 SportsDayHS Defensive Player of the Year: Duncanville’s Ennis Rakestraw Jr.

Snippets:

quote:

Rakestraw was in his comfort zone when he was matched up in one-on-one coverage against the opponent’s best receiver. He didn’t allow a touchdown pass all season, and he shut down two All-Americans.

Facing the No. 2-ranked receiver in the nation, Rakestraw held five-star Maryland signee Rakim Jarrett of Washington, D.C. St. John’s to five catches for 36 yards in a 35-14 victory. In the state semifinals, Rakestraw limited the nation’s No. 5-ranked receiver — four-star Ohio State signee Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Rockwall — to five catches for 37 yards in Duncanville’s 56-14 rout.

quote:

About Rakestraw: He had 30 solo tackles, 15 pass breakups and one interception for a 15-1 team that was the Class 6A Division I state runner-up. ... He plans to major in journalism and hopes to become a sports analyst. ... His favorite NFL player is the Browns’ Odell Beckham Jr., and his favorite cornerback is the Rams’ Jalen Ramsey. ... He’s a big video game player and said, “I can play Madden from sunrise to sundown.” His favorite team on Madden? “The New Orleans Saints. Just throw it to Mike Thomas.”

Rivals' All-Star team from Under Armour Game, All-American Bowl

quote:

QUARTERBACK

The most-efficient quarterback in this class, Bryce Young just does not make bad decisions. He has incredible timing on his throws, his anticipation is off the charts and the Alabama signee made an argument as the best QB in this class during his time at the All-American Bowl.

quote:

DEFENSIVE END

Alabama signee Will Anderson was one of the most surprising players at either all-star event because of his level of dominance and his relentlessness going after offensive tackles. He’s a little undersized compared to the highest-end defensive ends in the 2020 class, but nobody attacked more than Anderson, who plays the position with non-stop aggression.

For those unaware, we might also be playing the "long game" when it comes to Ennis Rakestraw, Jr. His teammate is 2021 4-star ILB Kendrick Blackshire. He's ranked #116 overall in next year's class.
