we'd find room for both

My gut feeling is that Jarrett may now be at the top of the WR board, but I could be wrong.
ETA:
I was wrong. A reliable "insider" says the order of the staff's WR board is Smith, Boutte, Jarrett, Henderson. But I still think Jarrett (and then Boutte) is the most likely to choose Bama.

Man it would be tough to tell one of them no ! But I like our receivers we have .
Posted on 10/22/19 at 10:15 pm to bloodtide 39
You have to take both right? I mean that will be our number two position of need behind QB
Posted on 10/22/19 at 10:21 pm to seanpendleton10
I would think one of our 3 would have to leave , I don’t think we take 5 WR. But they might I didn’t think we would take 4 stud backs , and we did! Numbers are very tight to

Counting Gilbert and assuming Jayson Jones doesn't stick, that's 23 commits. I'm pretty sure we have 27 signing spots. But I think Bama may be able to do a couple of voluntary withdrawal replacement scholarships too (which only count against the 85 limit); e.g., for James and Anoma. The loophole is to have the replacement player not sign and enroll as a walkon for a miniterm to become eligible for it. Tyson and Reichard did it. Early enrollees are good candidates, since they can be walkons for the short miniterm between the fall and spring terms. So, 4 to 6 spots.
TOP Targets:
RB - Evans (or maybe Gibbs or McClellan)
WR - Jarrett, Boutte
DL - Burch
LB - Webb
CB - Joseph, Ricks
Needs are already covered pretty well except for an elite WR and an elite CB. If we can get 4-6 of those guys it'll be a great class! It's also possible we could wrap up the entire class in December. Keep in mind that a pickup could possibly trigger attrition. For example, if Bama landed Evans, Edwards might decide to flip due to concerns about peer competition for playing time. Or if Bama landed both Joseph and Ricks, Jahquez Robinson might flip due to the same concern.

Sooo Webb, Jarrett, Joesph(if grades are up) one of the backs of Evans, Gibbs and long shot McCleelan) one more DL( hopefully Burch) maybe Mckinnley! And then it starts getting tuff. We probably have a couple blue shirts? I think as long as no official visit! Both lineman maybe your right unlimited ways Saban I’m sure knows how to fluctuate the numbers but hopefully by tomorrow we at number 1 again!! Lol

U spoke before me !!! Lol

Since the signing limit went into effect (as of the 2018 cycle) blueshirting isn't possible, because their fall scholarships must count toward the current academic year's signing limit.

Gotcha! We still need one more OL, would be weird for only 2. Last year was a great class at least on paper. I think Mc gluauthin is really underrated not a big fan of George

Bama might be OK with only taking McLaughlin and George (both likely redshirts), assuming we only lose Womack, Leatherwood and Brannon (medical). Latham can play DL or OL.

Latham is so mean , as a Guard would be nasty. But DL he’s killing it

Yeah, Latham is a very underrated gem. I've been pestering
Hank to get 247's evaluators to fix his turrible ranking.

Landon Dickerson is a Junior? Thought he was a Senior since he is a grad transfer. One more year for him, that is fantastic.

I thought he was a senior as well? Where do leatherwood and wills sit in the current mock draft?

Rusty said that as of this morning his CB pick would be Bama but is waiting to see if he can get intel on Gilbert informing coaches ahead of his announcement. Tim said he's "not quite ready to drop a CB yet... but all of our intel at this stage points to Alabama."
This is pretty dumb IMO and makes the crystal ball thing useless. If you wait until the day of when you know where he is going and then switch your crystal ball pick and then claim you got it right, that isn’t much of a prediction.
But I suppose it’s fun for some people to say “they get 95% of their picks correct” or whatever.

There should be some kind of rating for the timing of the pick

When do we get to refill Alfano’s scholly? His situation was so weird I’m not sure when his slot reopens.

Decision day has arrived for LINK ]Arik Gilbert, the No. 1 tight end in the country, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Marietta (Ga.) product will announce his college commitment between Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and Texas A&M on Wednesday evening ahead of his All-American Bowl jersey ceremony.
What to know ahead of the ceremony:
When: Between 5-6 p.m. CST (Oct. 23)
Where: College Football Hall of Fame
How to watch: 247Sports will be on-site and provide a Facebook Live stream. LINK ](Live - youtube)
Gilbert has taken official visits to all of his finalists, with the exception of Clemson. The five-star tight end did unofficially visit Clemson this season for the Texas A&M game. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has swung in favor of the Crimson Tide ahead of Gilbert's choice.
247Sports evaluation: Long-limbed, muscular, v-shaped athlete with a frame that can continue to add lean mass naturally. Rare body. Has played both sides of the ball for his high school and brings consistent effort in each role. Brings mismatch ability to the tight end position with both size and athleticism. Can play attached, split out as a wide receiver or as a 'move' tight end. Adequate hands and ball skills that have improved steadily over HS career. Can sink hips and change directions as a route-runner with receiver proficiency. Catches in traffic effectively. Highly competitive. Has elite verified combine athleticism. Once looked like a higher upside prospect at defensive end but has honed his offensive skill-set to become one of the most unique tight end prospects in years. Best tight end prospect we've seen since OJ Howard. Power five impact player on either side of the ball with first-round NFL Draft upside.
Note: Will Anderson, Brian Branch, Javon Baker, and Jamil Burroughs will get their All-American Bowl jerseys tonight too.
