Carson Beck's stats from Friday night:

quote:

11-of-31 passing (35.5%), for 169 yards and 1 TD
10 carries for 10 yards with 2 TDs... He had 2 rushing TDs of 1 & 5 yards...

You really think we can get Roy, Burch, and Ricks?

I like our chances of flipping Ricks. He's an early enrollee who'd have a legit shot to start in Diggs' spot as a freshman, and Surtain's spot will be open after next season. If we get Joseph and Ricks, imo Jaquez Robinson would likely flip.

We probably have a better shot with Roy than Burch, who's a very tough pull vs Clemson and UGA due to distance. However, Clemson's DL roster and 2020 class are stacked -- very stiff competition for PT, even for a guy like Burch.

DL is murky at this point, so I expanded the DL section above. I think we can get at least one of the four DL targets listed. Ray may stay another year due to his current injury, but we'll lose Davis, Musika and maybe Alfano.

Just wondering how that benefits him as opposed to just going ahead and leaving?

If he lives in the dorms with the football players, that has to be a little awkward!

If he's definitely decided he's going to transfer, that raises some questions. Has he told Saban he's leaving the program? Is he enrolled and attending classes? Is he living in the athletes dorm?

Not 100% on all specifics here

Enrolled I would say yes, attending classes no.
For the New Mexico State game I know that he was not in Bryant Denny.
I believe he lives in the dorms, but don't know for sure.

If Alabama lands only 2 OL I will be very disappointed. Need to stock up every year.

Well, expect to be disappointed. Hank, Tim and "insider" posters on BOL are all expecting Bama to take only 2-3 OLs for 2020. There's really no need to "stock up" on OLs in this cycle, and that's why Bama isn't making an effort to do that.

I’m of the opinion you take multiple every year. Just like you take a qb every year. So we’ll just disagree that there’s not a need.

The adage of taking a QB almost every year is valid because it's very difficult to project how HS QBs will pan out in college, and because only one plays except for mop up, which also leads to a lot of QBs transferring. But that stuff doesn't apply much to other positions.

You're also disagreeing with Saban & Co. who are working to fill Bama's needs for this cycle based on 2020's projected roster, as well as 2021's projected needs and targets.

Did you even click on the link I posted?

OL isn't a priority in this cycle compared to other positions. Bama added 6 stud OLs in the 2019 cycle and will probably only lose Leatherwood and maybe Brannon (medical hardship). Also, 2020's HS class isn't nearly as deep as 2021's is with top OL talent.

I replaced George with Dumervil, because I think George is likely to decommit and go elsewhere, and it appears Bama may make a big push for Dumervil who's a much better prospect. Bama is also recruiting 4* DL/OL Omari Thomas, but not pushing hard for him so far. And, DL/OL commit Jah-Marien Latham could end up playing OL.

Bama probably could've landed Chris Morris, but didn't push. They didn't try to keep Hill and might not try to keep George. There really aren't any indications that Bama needs or wants to take more than 2-3 OLs.
