quote:I'd be thrilled with either as well.
Gilbert seems to be more of a complete player, but I'd be thrilled with either. Washington is more raw, but his combination of size and speed reminds me of O.J. Howard. I was impressed with both of their tapes.
Click on their names to see combine results. They're quite close except Gilbert's verticle is about 4" better. So that pretty well offsets Washington being 2" taller.
5* TE Arik Gilbert 6-5.5/253 GA hudl
5* TE Darnell Washington 6-7.5/261 NV hudl
OJ Howard is now 6-6/251. His HS recruitng profile only has a 40 yd time. It was 4.42, but he was 30 lbs lighter (6-5.5/221) then.
ETA: Hank has said several times recently that Bama is very much in the thick of it for Gilbert and Washington and he expects Bama to get one of them and UGA to probably get one of them.

Some Alabama commits rising, some falling in recruiting rankings
Quandarrius Robinson, whom we posted a story on earlier today, isn’t the only Alabama commit whose recruiting ranking has changed a lot in recent months.
Some Crimson Tide commits like Robinson have moved up a lot in the rankings while some others like Jayson Jones and Javier Morton continue to drop in the rankings.

Morton won't be signing with Bama. Clark, Latham and Jones might also opt to go elsewhere. I doubt Bratton will grayshirt, but McLaughlin might.
