Some of the top recruits in America will embark upon the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas this weekend for The Opening Finals.
What is The Opening Finals you may ask? For those that haven’t followed recruiting closely over the years (via TheOpening.com):
“The Opening Finals is four days of dynamic training, coaching and competition for the country’s most elite high school football players. Every position and every aspect of the game will be highlighted over the course of the three-day program. The Opening Finals is undoubtedly the most high profile high school football event in the nation. Last year it drew media coverage from Bleacher Report, ESPN.com, Scout.com, 247sports.com, Rivals.com, NFL Network, USA Today and every other major recruiting website, as well as a live show by NFL Network.”
The event formally kicks off on Sunday, June 30 with prospects arriving in Texas. Prior to The Opening Finals, the Elite 11 Finals will begin on Friday, June 28.
This year there are four teams competing in the 7on7 portion of the camp — Team Battery, Team Backpack, Team Money Bag, Team Wave. And two teams make up the OL/DL — Team Pancake (OL), Team Skull (DL)
Of course, BamaOnLine will be in attendance and have you covered on all things Crimson Tide recruiting coming out of the event. Here, we break down the names we’ll be keeping an eye on this weekend in Texas.
Note: Drew Sanders has a tweeked hamstring and isn't participating as a precaution.

Here's an interesting article from Rivals about RB recruiting. Kendall Milton's father is quoted throughout and he seems to have a good grasp of how RBs should be used in college.
Elite running backs focused on big picture in recruiting
Elite running backs focused on big picture in recruiting
quote:
Kendall Milton is a five-star running back. As he goes through the recruiting process, the Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan star wants to be told how he will be utilized in each school’s offense.
And one thing his father, Chris, does not want to hear is that his five-star son is going to get the ball on every down.
“We definitely do not want him to be the pound-the-rock kind of guy,” Chris Milton said. “Definitely do not want a program where he’s touching the ball 30 times a game. We want him to be the profile running back, but also have some help.”
There is a change in thinking for many elite running backs these days. Instead of wanting to hear they will get the ball all the time, there is a much more sophisticated balance where the message needs to be that they will be the focal point of the offense but they won’t get ground down too quickly.
For many of these highest-end players, there is a potential future past college football and they want their bodies preserved. Tread on the tires has become much more important than putting up huge stats.
“You don’t want that on your body if you’re blessed to go to the NFL,” four-star running back Bijan Robinson said at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas. “You don’t want to be worn out before you go to the NFL. With all the coaches I’ve talked to they’re all saying 20 maximum, that’s the most carries you’ll get. That works out perfectly for me.
“You want the ball, but if you get the ball every time then you’re taking a pounding and it wears on your body for the long run. You want to get the ball, but not every time and then be effective with the ball when you get it.”
Robinson has had these talks with coaches from Ohio State, Texas and USC, his three front-runners. The Miltons have chatted extensively with coaches from Georgia, LSU, Alabama and Ohio State, their four favorites.
But as a father sitting at Kendall’s games, Chris Milton admits he wants to see his son shine and he wants to see his son lead his team to victory. Not at any cost though.
He hopes through the recruiting process that college coaches stick to their word - which could be difficult sometimes as coaches are under more pressure than ever to win and sometimes win big. That means the best players are going to get the ball a lot.
“It’s a balance, because sitting up in the stands and they give it to somebody else or they throw the ball and you’re like, ‘Damn, put the ball in Kendall’s hands,’” Chris Milton said. “By the same token, after he takes hits you’re like, ‘Damn, man, spread it around.’ It’s like a bipolar situation.
“At the end of the day, I just hope that it’s responsible and they look at Kendall’s bigger picture. I don’t have any control over it and even through this recruiting, I can say it until I’m blue in the face, but on Saturday afternoons when 100,000 people are yelling, my word doesn’t mean too much. It’s going to come down to the integrity of the coach to be behind what he said these past several months.”
A look at some of the best college running backs last season show some are getting a whole lot of carries while others - especially ones at Alabama that utilize multiple backs throughout a game - don’t get many at all.
Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor, Boston College’s A.J. Dillon and Arizona State’s Eno Benjamin each averaged around 23 carries per game. Clemson’s Travis Etienne was at more than 13 touches, Georgia’s D’Andre Swift was just under 12 and Alabama’s Najee Harris, expected to be more of a feature back this season, didn’t even average eight carries per game.
Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins, who split carries with Mike Weber as the Buckeyes are a front-runner for both Robinson and Milton, had more than 16 touches per outing.
Alabama’s style last season of spreading out touches with Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs and Najee Harris did not hurt running back recruiting in Tuscaloosa at all. Last cycle, the Crimson Tide landed five-star Trey Sanders and four-star Keilan Robinson. Four-star Roydell Williams is already committed in the 2020 class.
“We’ve talked to Alabama, we’ve talked to (running backs coach Charles) Huff, and I 100 percent understand their thought process and I commend them for wanting to preserve their backs and to make sure they have tread on their tires on the next level, so I don’t want him to be the only guy on the roster,” Chris Milton said. “Hell no. That’s a bit much.
“When he’s getting paid, then he can tote the ball like that. Right now, he’s trying to get there.”

I just noticed Rivals has started their own CB process called "FutureCast." They don't have a dedicated section to view multiple picks on one screen (as far as I can tell) so you have to go to each indivdual player's profile page to view them.
I'll post some the recent ones for guys in the Top 100.
Some guy put one in two days ago for Justin Flowe to Clemson.
Jordan Burch got one to South Carolina ten days ago.
Kendall Milton got five to Georgia two weeks ago.
Jaquelin Roy got two to LSU this week.

Does anyone know if you can still look at the CB predictions of analyst from previous years? I was trying to look at Hank's from last year but I don't see the option to view past years anymore.

Thanks Bo. In the past they kept an archive of the actually predictions from each year. Do you know if it is still there?
Posted on 6/28/19 at 1:35 pm to Carlton
It is there.. thats where I just pulled this from.
It’s under Crystal Ball Predictions Feed.. you have to click on the name though under the recruits. It’s more complicated than before. You also have to go each year by drag down at the top then find the name again under a different recruit. I’m sure there is a easier way though..lol

Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge: Texas, La., prospects make noise
quote:
ATLANTA -- More than 100 of the top players in the nation participated in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas on Tuesday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Nearly a fifth of the prospects traveled in from Texas and Louisiana. Regional analyst Sam Spiegelman looks back on those players' performances.

Two Rivals100 defensive linemen shine
Jaquelin Roy was fantastic in Atlanta. He worked out at defensive end and tackle and did his best work inside. He bullied some talented offensive tackles with his power and speed. He played through a twisted ankle, but still won plenty of reps with his stutter move, violent hands and ability to bend and twist. LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M are all chasing after this week's DL MVP.
In a small sample size, there was a lot to like about Vernon Broughton's day. He played left defensive end and was extremely quick off the ball. His spin move inside was on point and his long arms helped him go toe-to-toe with offensive tackles and get to the quarterback. Broughton is eyeing a fit as a 4-3 defensive end, with Texas A&M or Ohio State as likely landing spots.

Thoughts on some other DBs
Joel Williams has been tearing up camps. He had breakout performances at Alabama and LSU in the past month and has found a home at safety. Williams worked as a nickel and in off-coverage and did well in both positions. He shadowed WR MVP Marcus Rosemy well, though the Georgia commitment made an outstanding grab on a perfectly thrown ball. He's made tremendous strides in his new role.
Bryson Washington clocked a 4.55 40 time and that speed translated to the field. He was very physical and plays both press and off-coverage. He has fluid hips and long arms that cause problems for receivers looking for the ball. He bodied up smaller receivers and covered like a corner with safety size. He was very disciplined in coverage, too.
Joshua Eaton is a new four-star and looked good both at corner and catching balls at receiver. He's at his best playing off the ball and he has a lot of raw talent that could help him develop at defensive back later on. He has great track speed and a huge frame with long arms to bat down passes. Eaton has a ton of upside.
It was a good day in the office for Texas safeties Xavion Alford and Darius Snow. Alford shadowed receiver as a nickel safety and didn't miss a beat. He plays the ball well in the air and even batted down a pass after the receiver hauled it in. Snow played well off-the-ball. He had his bumps with quicker receivers like Mookie Cooper, as most defensive backs did. Snow shined in 7-on-7 as he anticipated routes and did great work over the top.

LINK ]The Opening Finals 2019: What you need to know at each position (247Sports)

It’s about time for the 2019 Opening Finals, where most of the nation’s top 2020 recruits — and a few 2021 prospects — will convene in Frisco, Texas, from June 30 through July 3 for testing, camp drills and either the 7on7 tournament or the OL-DL challenge.
247Sports will be on scene from the beginning through the end (the festivities actually begin with the Elite 11 on June 28, which this year is also in Frisco). My colleague Barton Simmons already ran down the slate of quarterbacks to watch in the Elite 11 and the ensuing 7on7 tournament; below is my breakdown of the rest of the positions in the class of 2020: How do things currently sit? Who has something to prove? Who might be primed for a rankings bump?
Let’s get started. (read more)

What dad has to understand is that any coach, Kirby, Saban, you name it, have been hired for 1 primary purpose, and that is to win games. Not get your son to the league as healthy as possible. Certainly, we all hope that can happen too, but I promise you if Bama, UGA, LSU, OSU, etc are in a big game and they need to feed their back 25 times to win it, they will without blinking--as they should. If that bothers dad, maybe he should hold his son out the next 3 years and then send him to an NFL mini-camp. Football is a grown man's sport. Nobody at the highest level is gonna call a game based on what you think is too little or too much contact for your boy.
Posted on 6/28/19 at 5:12 pm to tider04
What you don't understand is to win games you need to recruit the best talent.
So yeah taking care of their son is one of their priorities because that's part of how they recruit them.

I doubt Kendall Milton's dad would be concerned about his son getting some additional carries in a few big close games each year. It sounds to me like he's just being smart and reasonable by considering top programs like Bama, tOSU, OU, UGA, that always have several good running backs to split carries among.
Posted on 6/28/19 at 5:28 pm to TidalSurge1
I second that Surge. I think some of you are taken this to seriously/literally. I doubt he is going to be raising sand if his son is taking the ball to close out games/run our the clock. I doubt we are going to be running out the clock and he is going to be yelling "35 carries Saban, what kind of monster are you." I think he is just saying over a season and career he wants his son to be in a situation where he shares carries so he is not "perceived" as run down. I don't have a problem with the kid's dad thinking about his future. I know winning in college is the goal but we can't pretend getting prospects to the NFL is not a huge part of the draw for getting recruit to come to Bama. There is a reason we have the NFL jerseys and helmets at our facility and why we tweet about the success in the NFL of our alumni.
