Getting past the first round is a deep run
As a Georgetown fan, this is too real
As a Zona fan, elite 8 is minimum standard while Final 4 is "we made it"
As an Auburn fan, I'm still trying to figure out how brackets work since it's our "first time here"

Wouldn't call a guy pissed yelling at someone a fight though. Never looked like a physical altercation was imminent
It wasn't just words though, Bruce ran into the guy on purpose.

would take Petty being the Petty that everyone expected him to be though.
I'm convinced Petty will be that guy who disappoints for 3 years, everyone writes off as a solid role player who can make you pay...
Then his senior year he breaks out and is like SEC POY out of nowhere.

He has the talent to be one of the best three point shooters in the country. His struggles are all in his head right now.
Hopefully doing it away from home in a big game today gives him the confidence he needs to be able to carry it over into the tourney.

We can win the 1st game with Petty being his normal mediocre self. We cant win any game past that unless he gets at least 3 or 4 3's in a game.

People bumped into each other and exchanged heated words afterwards. A physical altercation (i.e physical disagreement) regarding the fault of the bump/contact never appeared imminent despite plenty of opportunity.
I don't want to get into this again
This really is a non story though. It wasn't even teh worst conf tourney altercation in the 24 hour period of that game as St Johns tried to storm the Xavier lockeroom after an on court fight

What do you guys think about Reese shooting? Avery was getting on him for not pulling the trigger.
"Shoot the ball.... Just shoot the ball son"
If youre given the green light , why not pull the trigger? Confidence?

I'm actually really excited about Reese. I thought he was soft in high school, but he is doing ok with rebounds. He's not great but he puts out effort. His shooting keeps getting better. I trust him shooting more than everyone else except Sexton.

I trust Reese more than anyone but Sexton from Beyond the arc.
He is going to be a bigtime player once we get that babyfat off of him.

I don't think he struggles with confidence. He usually has a pretty quick trigger from three.

He has the potential to be a really good player. A year or two in the weight room mixed with his size and shooting ability he is gonna be really hard to guard.

A year of conditioning is going to do wonders. Lots of untapped athletic ability. Should also make him a bit quicker.

Could be confidence. Could also be guys who are in habit cycles/mindset not to shoot (i.e. they're so used to not shooting they reflexively don't do it). It's really hard to adjust the habits you've built up
AU's Mustapha Heron alluded to that issue in a post game presser, we basically drew up a play that was "Mustapha will shoot a 3FG even if covered and going to miss, we DGAF"

Yea I just thought it was odd CAJ asked why he wasn't taking the shots and had to tell him to just take the shot.

Yea, working on his body and having someone work with him with some interior play will help tremendously. If/when he can become a threat in the post as well as outside, he'll be a huge problem for people

I think he has a quick trigger when it is designed for him to shoot.
When I watch, it seems like in unplanned situations, he doesn't pull the trigger

I already hate myself for saying this, but I actually believe youth is the factor here. He just defers to the other guys. He may feel like he is the low man and others should get their shots first.
I really hate that youth excuse, so that fact that I really believe it this time annoys the hell out of me.
Where is BamainVA40, he should give me hell for this. Dang

I should be watching but I gotta try to watch and clear off some of the shite on my DVR. Basketball has me slacking and I know the next few weeks are going to be worse
