It's the moving Target that gets me. You can be disappointed in results and still support Avery. You can express doubt while still believing he's the right guy.

Id give Avery another year personally, but he'd have to show clear development on the roster. If he can't make the tournament next year, that's a problem

Just find it comical an Auburn fan cares that much about what our program does.

I post here enough that I'm invested in Bama success in bball now.

Y'all are some the best consistent bball posters. I just like shooting the shite with y'all. I hate seeing y'all down... Except after AU games

He also coaches at Auburn, where basketball has gone to die for 20 years on top of being an Under Armour school

I see no reason Auburn is a much worse job than Alabama. It's easier to pull players from Georgia, and y'all have a new arena while we play in an awful facility. It's not like either school can sell recruits on tradition.

The fact that they are in a position despite all those transfers to have a better roster is telling

Well the transfers open up spots for other guys. I'd also point out that Howland has had some good fortune in recruiting. The Weatherspoons are from Mississippi, Robert Woodard and Reggie Perry have fathers who played at State.

Avery has had some bad luck with King getting sick, Ferguson leading us on, and just general weak in state classes outside of our current group of freshmen. The '16 in state class had Langford and Wiley, but they both had ties to other schools that basically gave us no shot.

Lol ur a good man gene, I can't ever stay mad at u for too long . I scratch my head at times at Avery but I rarely question his willingness to adjust or passion to make this program great. This program was dead under grant and I just hope we find some magic again.

Tom, are you arguing that State doesn't or does have a better roster? You've confused me

Is Pitt a good job? I have no idea about the situation up there.

Ya it is. I wouldn't be super shocked if Sean Miller goes to Pitt though I don't expect it

We all want the same thing (except Gene) we just can't agree on the best way to get there

I think they will next year. If all their guys stay, which has been a big if for them under Howland so far, they should be loaded next season.

Trust me I know we all want same thing. I'd be on board with crean if it came to that, only negative would be the last few years at Indiana. If Avery can't cut it id want Byrne to grab a proven winner.

His last 6 years Crean had 3 sweet 16s. One round of 64 and a first round nit. I'm good with that

Last 3 years was a round of 64 a sweet 16 and the nit

Mizzou fans are butt hurt about a member of media saying St Louis isn't safe.

This started it

Heath Cline @heathradio
St Louis media guys are in the press conference room telling people not to walk more than a couple of blocks from the arena after the game unless they’re in a crowd. What a great place to have this event.

Objectively
-Better recruiting
-More recognized brand
-Financial Resources
-Program support (Bama donors have actually seen them win)
-Nike School
-TV Exposure
-Gym doubles as airplane hanger

You can at least point to players that have played in the league while recruits have been alive

I'd also point out that Howland has had some good fortune in recruiting.

All of the guys on this roster that went 10-8 SEC were ranked 90-100+ except N Weather spoon. It isn't like Howland has a team of NBA players

Avery has had some good fortune too

-Sexton coach was Bama alum, that's how Bama got in early
-Petty instate 5*
-Donta Hall inherited

Lundardi has Ala vs OU in play-in game, winner vs Kentucky

Palm has us first team out

Auburn is 21/60 from 3 point land against us this year - 35%.

espn:
quote:

Work to do

Alabama (18-14, 8-10 SEC)
(BPI: 53 | SOS: 31 | SOR: 64 | RPI: 57)

Collin Sexton's amazing game winner gave the Crimson Tide a 71-70 win over Texas A&M in what was probably a do-or-die situation. As a result, Bubble Watch views Avery Johnson's team as in the field of 68 -- for now.

Nevertheless, the bubble is nothing if not fluid, and Bama is still hovering precariously near the cut line. The Tide would therefore be well-advised to keep winning, just to be sure. Fortunately for Alabama fans, their team's next opponent presents the perfect opportunity to end this uncertainty once and for all. A win over Auburn in the SEC tournament quarterfinals could put the Tide in the field with room to spare.
