LSU Women’s Basketball Defeats Morgan State, 91-33

BATON ROUGE, La. – The fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team defeated Morgan State, 91-33, on Tuesday afternoon inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 21 to face Texas-Arlington. The game will tip off at 1:00 p.m. CT inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
With the victory, LSU improves its overall record to 12-0, while Morgan State falls to 1-12 on the season.
In the first half, LSU shot 19-of-33 (57.6%) from the floor and 10-of-14 (71.4%) at the free throw line. The Bears went 7-of-23 (30.4%) from the field. LSU closed the half carrying a 35-point advantage, 52-17.
Keeping a steady pace, LSU made 16-of-30 (53.3%) field goals and 6-of-12 (50%) from the free throw line. Morgan State recorded 4-of-21 shots for 19 percent with 10 rebounds. LSU would outscore Morgan State 39-16, including 20 points in the paint and 19 fast-break points.
MiKaylah Williams and Flau’Jae Johnson had 14 points and two three-pointers to lead the Tigers. Williams shot 5-of-7 from the field, while Johnson shot 6-of-9. Other Tigers that scored in double figures were MiLaysia Fulwiley with 11 points, and Grace Knox and Jada Richard with 10 points.
Michaela Bogans and Ja’la Bannerman were the leading scorers for Morgan State, finishing with 8 points.
