NEW ORLEANS, La. – The fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team defeated New Orleans, 126-62, on Sunday afternoon inside the Lakefront Arena.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 13 to face Louisiana Tech. The game will tip off at 5:00 p.m. CT inside the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.

With the victory, LSU improves its overall record to 10-0, while New Orleans falls to 0-8 on the season.

In the first half, LSU shot 27-of-46 (58.7%) from the floor and two treys. The Privateers went 10-of-27 (37%) and 4-of-11 (36.4%) from the arc. LSU closed the half carrying a 34-point advantage, 63-29.

Maintaining the first half tempo, LSU made 23-of-39 (59%) field goals and 15-of-17 (88.2%) from the free throw line. UNO recorded 9-of-35 shots for 26 percent with 15 rebounds. LSU would outscore UNO 63-33, including 17 fast-break points to the Privateers two.

Kate Koval had 22 points on 9-of-9 shooting and four free throws to lead the Tigers. MiLaysia Fulwiley posted 18 points to go with eight assists. Grace Knox earned a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Other Tigers that scored in double figures were ZaKiyah Johnson (17), Amiya Joyner (14) and Jada Richard (12).

Shanihya Brown was the leading scorer for UNO, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
