LSU System President Dr. Wade Rousse released a statement following Thursday's court ruling in the ongoing eligibility battle involving LSU, the SEC, and NCAA.

Rousse said LSU "respects the judicial process and the court's decision" and will continue working with the SEC and NCAA as the legal battle moves forward.

He also pointed to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding eligibility rules as another reason for Congress to take action on college athletics.
quote:

“LSU respects the judicial process and the court's decision. Our responsibility is to support our programs while complying with the law and the rules governing our conference.

“We will carefully review the court's order and continue to work constructively with the SEC and NCAA as this matter moves forward.

“College football does not deserve this kind of ambiguity in eligibility standards. This is just another illustration that Congress needs to pass a version of the Protect College Sports Act.”

Pressure on Congress to pass the Protect College Sports Act is a theme here. Don't overlook that the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, is an LSU and LSU Law grad. He's absolutely following what's happening.
