Former LSU wide receiver and track star Jelani Watkins has committed to Arkansas, according to multiple reports on Monday.

The speedy receiver from LaPlace, La. appeared in three games this season, catching two passes for 21 yards in the Southeastern game.

Watkins appeared in two games during his freshman season in 2024, seeing action against Nicholls and South Carolina, but did not record any statistics.

I wish LSU could have kept him, but he wants to play football, and I understand. But judging by that pic up above of him in an LSU uniform running with the ball, he better build up that bony body and put some meat on his bones. ?? I wish him well!

The fastest recruit ever at LSU. He had the fastest official timed 100m in high school ver for a football recruit at LSU - heck, fastest for track guys too. Wish he woulda stayed, but mostly for what he will do in track. I'd guess a sub 10 sec 100m before he graduates.

This hurts the track program way more than the football program.
