LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker spoke with reporters after practice on Monday and was asked about Harold Perkins' move to the STAR position for this season.

Baker said that he sat down with Perkins after his injury to discuss his position options:
quote:

"I think this is the best fit," Baker said.

"After the injury, Perk and I sat down. He's such a good you man, I asked him, 'What position do you want to play?' He said, "Wherever you want me to play, coach."

I said, 'No, Harold, what do you want to play?' Perk finally said, 'I think I'll be best at STAR.'

"I do that a lot with guys, because if they believe that's their best position, they will be most comfortable there.

"And he looks really comfortable out there. He can do it all. He can cover, he can blitz. He has a great range in zone. He's tailor-made for that job."

Let Harold have full reign of the kitchen and we will be eating real good all year.

Perkins and Weeks are about to be a problem.

Please put Perkins in a spy when facing mobile QBs. That was thier mistake against Bama last year. Not spying Milroe. They better spy Sellers!

We couldn't slow down athletic qb's running on us even when we knew it was coming. Extremely frustrating. Bama and aTm games still haunt me.
