Wilson Alexander of The Advocate reports that LSU is hosting UC Davis running back Carter Vargas as a potential transfer.
The 6-0, 212-pound back from Santa Maria, Calif., just finished his redshirt freshman season, appearing in eight games before an injury cut his season short.
Vargas rushed for 445 yards and five touchdowns in eight games before an injury cut his season short. He averaged 55.6 rushing yards per game and 6.6 yards per attempt ... He also added 177 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns on 10 receptions.
