HOUSTON, Tx. – LSU pitcher Luke Holman strikes out 12 batters and first baseman Jared Jones blasts a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to propel the second-ranked Tigers to a 6-3 victory over Texas inside Minute Maid Park at the Astros Foundation College Classic.
With the win, LSU improved to 9-1 on the season, while the Longhorns dropped to 7-2.
The Tigers return to action Saturday to take on the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in the sixth game of the Astros Foundation College Classic. The contest will be streamed on Astros.com and the Astros social media pages, including their YouTube account, and it can be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates.
