On Saturday, Midland closed a 4-3 victory over Odessa in a 23-inning high school game that took two days to complete in Texas...

The game started at 4:30 p.m. on Friday but was suspended around four hours later in the top of the 14th inning because it became too dark to keep playing.

Although the game started at Odessa High’s Pressly Field, it finished at Midland's Zachery Field. According to KMID's Kayler Smith, the 23-inning marathon was the longest high school game in Texas history.

It fell two innings short of matching the overall United States record. However, it came nowhere close to a four-day, 50-inning Japanese high school game in 2014.

It's hard to believe with all the money over there, there's no baseball field lights.

Too dark to keep playing? Do they not have sufficient lighting for night games?
