Backup Auburn tight end Jalen Harris announced Wednesday on Twitter that he is leaving the team.

According to Harris' tweet, the Montgomery, AL native has been granted his release and will redshirt this season. His plans are to graduate from Auburn next spring and transfer to another program for his final year of eligibility.

Harris finished his Auburn career with four receptions for 33 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was used primarily as a blocking tight end.
