Last month AL.com reported that Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze has logged almost a dozen rounds of golf in the USGA system. Freeze has taken to a podcast to defend his golf actions...
quote:

"You know, everybody seems to like to talk about my golf game. … I do love golf. I enjoy playing. But what people don't realize is, you know, I assure you that I never missed a camp day or a recruiting day," Freeze said on David Pollack's "See Ball Get Ball" podcast this week. "But if camp got over at three o'clock one day, and Jill [Freeze] and I go out at 4:30, we absolutely might do that. And I'm not apologizing for that part of it. But my focus is 100% on getting Auburn in that win column this fall."

He’s got a single digit handicap, but needs double digit wins.
SEC football is not a net event.

football doesn't have to be 100 hour per week grinds, 52 weeks per year. Spring practice is over and fall camp hasn't started. The guy can have a life outside of football. Hell, Spurrier played a lot of golf when he was head coach at UF - and he admitted he didn't need to work an insane number of hours. I mean, at some point it's the law of diminishing returns.
