According to ESPN's Joel Anderson, former Alabama head coach Mike DuBose, from 1997 to 2000, accidentally shot himself while working on his farm earlier this week. His injuries were non-life threatening...
quote:

DuBose accidentally fired his .38 caliber handgun injuring himself in the torso while mowing grass on his farm land Monday.

A source close to the family tells us DuBose keeps his pistol with him while mowing in case of snakes, and somehow, it accidentally went off. He drove himself to the hospital in Opp, was airlifted to the hospital in Dothan for surgery.

DuBose is expected to be okay, the source says. The incident is being investigated by the Covington County Sheriff's Department.
