"@marcweiszer: UGA WR Uriah LeMay allegedly cashed a discarded check that was issued to a roommate who was a UGA athlete."
"@marcweiszer: Matthews, Taylor and DeLoach used mobile app to cash check and then went to store to cash same paper check, police say."
marcweiszer: #UGA football players Tray Matthews, Jonathan Taylor and James DeLoach charged after alleged they double-dipped using a UGA-issued check."

What Lemay did will probably warrant dismissal. The other three will probably get suspended.

I hate to open the Pandora's box here but the University noticed the checks being cashed twice and notified the police to investigate. In Baton Rouge do you think this type of thing would have been handled "internally" by football people?

I'm not justifying what these 4 morons did I'm just begging the question.

Funny how this revolves around money yet again. These kids are freaking broke while the colleges make millions off of them.

Not excusing what they did, just wondering if they actually paid these kids one would think these types of incidents would likely diminish, if not completely stop.

That said, you gotta be a whole buncha stupid to think that you could get away with something like what they just tried. How dumb do you have to be to not think the banks are going to notice double-cashing of checks???? fricking morons.

How do you let any of them back on the team after they stole from the Athletic Department?

Of all the white collar crimes they could've committed, this is about the dumbest. They used their own checks (except Lemay,) their own driver licenses, they did it on video at the store....and they tried to steal from the hand that fed them....wow.

Let's go ahead and nip this one in the bud and have that discussion in another thread.

How fricking stupid do you have to be to think you could get away with something like this? Cro-Magnon Motherfrickers... ...Gotdamn...

Matthews, Taylor and DeLoach are alleged to have electronically deposited the checks through a mobile app into three different Wells Fargo accounts and then "presented to be cashed" the same check at an unknown location with an account at SunTrust bank, the report said.

unless you paid them a ridiculous amount, they would still be "broke". FWIW, most d1 football players can get a decent amount(up to around 18k a year) of yearly money if they need it.

I hope this shite keeps happening! We got the strict rules of any team in the sec, and it ALWAYS comes back to bit us in the arse.

Players need to get paid, our drug testing policy needs to match the other top dogs in the sec. Also we need players to vote on whether to kick a player off the team.

frick if kids at other schools can ko a guy then kick in the head and still be the star qb, then why the frick is our athletic dept narcing on our players......instead don't give the check next time, sine most of them cashed it twice.

Id imagine if they didnt have them arrested it would have been a major NCAA violation.

I've noticed something recently. You seem to be fairly "normal" on here, yet at the very same time you go on teh main SEC board and your SC baord and lambast uga at every turn. Just curious what your angle is.

He hates UGA more than any UF or AU fan on the rant.
