Honest questions. Did you like having CTG as our DC? Were you mad when he left?

Yes, liked him as DC.

No, not mad, I was worried.

Although I do reserve judgement for on the field performance, this statement is just dumb.

CJP might not make us any better, but I can't remember when I was so frustrated time and time again watching our defense play last season.

Everybody was frustrated.

Which provides a great opportunity for Pruitt and the Staff to capitalize on..... and hit home-runs with the fans through SOUND-BYTES and TALK!

That's all it is though, so far.............Talk.

Grantham built that defense from scratch. Pruitt got his at FSU from Stoops and was just an assistant to Smart at Bama.

Al Groh fired.

Charles Kelly takes over.

Instant turn around in defensive production.

Ted Roof inherits Charles Kelly's D.

Charles Kelly leaves for FSU.

Jeremy Pruitt has great success.

Pruitt leaves for UGA.

Charles Kelly takes over at FSU.

Charles Kelly (white aura.)

Grantham was 5 yards away from having the exact same endorsement that is making everyone believe in Pruitt

he's also the reason we lost that endorsement as well. if pruitt gives up 350 yards rushing in the biggest game we've played in 30 years then I'll talk shite about him too.

It's the offseason. I'm more than happy to revel in hopes and dreams of things to come like a Disney Dawg for now. I've got nothing better to do. That doesn't mean I think we'll be some unstoppable force on defense, though.

What I hope and what I expect are two different things. I expect our defense to be better, but not top 10. I hope our talent will shine brightly under a simplified scheme with CJP at the helm, but I haven't see anything in action yet (the R&B game doesn't count for much), so I can't predict what will happen with any certainty. We might not be any better than last year, but I don't think that will be the case.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with being excited about something. CJP gives us something to get pumped up over, which was desperately needed (IMO) after last season.

And neither do I. But, this weird consensus is giving me the Fear.

Anyway, most of the nega-dorks will break from their trance/coma the first time Clemson gets a 1st down....... and then the scales will tip back within range to take accurate measurements.

Horse shite.

The DL sucked under Garner and made an immediate improvement under Wilson.

Linebackers have all played great under Grantham, a linebacker guy by trade.

Secondary was Lakatos fault.

Grantham is unfairly being sent out to the shite pasture.
You know why it doesn't matter to me? Because Grantham was responsible for the entire defense, not just one group or another.

That's great the the LBs did well, but he needed to do something about the secondary when they consistently sucked it up game after game. Lakatos shares some blame, obviously, but it was Grantham's job to make sure the defense as a whole was executing his game plan. When he saw that secondary playing like a steaming pile of dog droppings he needed to make sure changes were made to right the ship. That never happened.

I agree completely. It really is strange to see so much optimism around here. I've always been more of a realist rather than an optimist or pessimist, but after last year's showing on defense, I honestly can't imagine how it could be any worse.

Time will tell, though. I'm curious to see how many people jump ship at the first sign of trouble. For me, I'm more willing to be patient and see where the season goes.

So what exactly was CTG responsible for? Just LB's?

Fine, lets pin all the blame on individual units on those coaches. Whatever. Even if you wanna go that route, grantham still calls the plays. It's still his fault we would constantly be lined up out of position. It's his fault players didnt know what they were doing half the time. It's his fault our playbook was bigger than an NFL teams. All that is on grantham, not the position coaches.

LINGERING QUESTION: Why was CTG unable to dial-up Jordan Jenkins or Floyd or one of those other guys? shite makes zero sense to me. Jarvis Jones was a defensive version of the triple option.. not enuff people to account for him and he would run wild. What happened to that tactic? Hyped players fcked Grantham imo.. this is one thing you can't say about Jeremy Pruitt.. he's supposedly the world's top 5 recruiter.. but I ain't seeing the hype. It's not a good sign for the North Avenue Butchers or for any other team.. ya can always count on the Dream Team or an Energy Bus.. but not with this guy.

I call bullshite! You hated him as much as anybody through 6-8 games. I've posted quotes of you agreeing with my negative comments about Grantham and his horseshite defense. I just haven't figured out why you changed your mind when nothing got better. I think you just like playing devil's advocate, or being a horses arse. One or the other. And speaking of 5 yards from a Natty, explain to me why our best run stuffing LB (Herrera) was on the bench for the majority of that Bama game when we gave up 350 on the ground? Grantham was a complete failure!

Herrera would not start on most teams, IMHO.

As a long time experienced financial planner/stock broker, I have learned some valuable lessons.

Like the media is always about 3 weeks behind the actual market.

Like when you see the public flocking to something and throwing their money at it after it's hit it's all time high, it's time to sell and then short it.

Like when my Dad calls me and asks me about a stock, it's time to short the hell out of it.

Well that's how this thread makes me feel. If Jefferson is nega-dawging something, it's time to double-down on it because it's going to pay huge profits.

Just like when he disney-dawgs something, you know it's time to sell that shite and short it.

So this is a good thing folks. This means we might just win it all this year.

Call em like I see em.

Look around. You have to be a tactician to play LB.. and then you don't have to give a fck.

I don't see it in that guy. Alec Ogletree, yes. Herrera is what I call, all show and no go. JMHO
