He's done some good things, but I sincerely wish he'd let go of his obsession with the popular vote, leading him to this nonsense about 3-5 million illegitimate votes, and this nonsense about his inauguration crowd. All it does is make him look immature and pathological.

This only matters if job growth results from the changes.

It is not the government's role to create jobs. But to deny the impact of government policy and taxation on employers is foolish. I think Trump will see job growth.

Rather, you build portions here and there that divert foot traffic through manageable quadrants that are monitored by beefed up border patrols.

If you think building just a 100 mile wall is reasonable, then think of it as building a reasonable 100 mile wall ten times, concurrently.

The new positions would be a bureaucracy by definition, but when the project is completed there would be plenty of jobs waiting for them back in the private sector in various mgmt positions (construction or otherwise). It takes human resources to get things done. Hiring 200 people in an endeavor like this is actually very lean. It would probably take closer to 500 desk jobs, plus all your physical labor. You'd also want to hire an outside firm like KPMG to provide a PMO and ongoing QA reporting to the EVP.

1,900 miles of border means 190 "individual" projects running at 1 time. Getting 190 project managers and GC's to work together is a nightmare on an epic scale. Simply put, you could not pay me enough to get involved in that shite show.

There are parts of the border where a fence might not be needed. Places where there is nothing but desert and most that try to cross there struggle to even survive. You'd augment those areas of the border with some other means of border security.

There are also portions already fenced.

Right now he is probably putting together an exploratory team to work out details, something a business man does. Politicians would just put forward whatever plan their special interests handed him.

No, it would be 19 individual projects.

I have no idea of the plans but if we are going to build a wall, it would be extremely stupid to leave sections un-walled. Why even bother?

Not necessarily. For a project of this size, you build at the most vulnerable spots, this of high priority first with the idea in mind that shite happens over 4-8 years and at the very least you can address the biggest issues. At that point, at least you know where there are little to no vulnerabilities and can instead focus efforts on the gaps that remain. It may not eliminate the problem (truth be told, nothing is going to outright eliminate the problem) but it at least addresses it in a meaningful way

Put a transaction tax on every dollar being wired to Mexico. That would be a start.

The easiest fricking way to do this is turn it into a DMZ. Barbed wire and about 50 million landmines would do the trick. And a sign that says el stepo here and go boom.

In exactly 10 minutes, the routing companies would go through a proxy like Canada or Puerto Rico. But I like the way you think.

During Wall construction, there will be attacks on the construction. White liberal losers on the USA side, and Mexicans on their side.

We'll need a DMZ to keep the construction workers safe.

That's the line we use to set up a DMZ.

And maybe the wall never gets built, but the DMZ stays...

I like the way you think...

I'll give him one thing ... He does what he says he'll do. Not a fan though. Sorry. Merica and everything.
