I hope he is reserved for someone we play more frequently

I like Miles being in the SEC and I think hiring Grantham would be the beginning of the end for Miles.

A strong LSU is good for us. They recruit against Auburn some and play Florida yearly. Don't hire him, Tigers!

LSU recruits defense about as well as Alabama. Grantham would thrive there. He thrived at UGA when he had elite talent.

My take is that his system requires better than average players and depth behind them to be successful.

Grantham is a very good DC in my opinion.

Except that he didn't thrive.

I mean he's not the worst DC ever but I'd be interested to see what kind of production a lot of other DCs could get out of a senior laden defense like we had in 2012. I'd be willing to bet it'd be a lot better.

I have no idea why he would make a move to LSU after just going to Louisville for 1.3 million and a lot less pressure on his defense playing in the overall weaker ACC.

CTG's contract is 5m guaranteed. Even if they fire him for buttfricking kids in the shower.

Petrino made that happen.

Who is smarter, Miles, Petrino, or Grantham?

Is there actual smoke to this, or just jibber jabber?

First I've heard of it is this topic.

Of course this is much too juicy for Rig to pass up... The defensive spike in awesomeness in 2011 was a function of superior talent applying a flawed scheme which had become familiar, at best.

Also didn't hurt padding stats against a very weak schedule in 2011. We got pounded when we played good teams to bookend the season.

I will admit that the first half of the 2011 SECCG was one of the best defensive performances I've seen from UGA.

But yea, I wondered how long it'd take him. Someone somewhere has to be the one to stand up for grantham I guess

If I were to bump every topic on this board sucking Grantham's cock (not by me) after the 2012 season, knowing we lost 8/11 defensive starters, everyone acknowledging the defense was going to take a big step back in 2013 because it was a true rebuilding year, it would take up 5 pages and I would be banned.

The fact is, 2013 was a rebuilding year and the defense did take a step back. Injuries on offense augmented the shittiness of the season. Special teams was the worst I've ever seen in my life, and I'm older than most of you.

Remember when Strength and Conditioning caused everyone's ACL tears?

Oh right, Grantham tore everyone's ACL. Grantham is the reason we only had 2 touchbacks on ko the whole season. Grantham is the reason Marshall Morgan was suspended for 4 games for BUI on a god damn jet ski on Lake Sinclair. Grantham was the reason for the multiple dropped fair catches on punt returns.

Grantham did a good enough job with a whole shitload of brand new players. He did a pretty damn good job recruiting too.

Every starter on our defense in 2014 was a Grantham recruit.

Do I think Pruitt sucks? No. Pruitt is damn good too.

I don't understand all the Grantham hate.

He's too fiery....? Pruitt is every bit as fiery. And apparently Richt is too, when cameras aren't around.

Yall just need to stop being arm-bruised shaken little bitches and accept that Grantham left because he got a pay raise.

He wasn't fired.

If any of you believe he was told "you need to start looking for another job" and he called up Petrino and said "Hey bro, I know we don't know each other, but are you hiring, by chance?" and got a pay raise, then you are a fricking idiot.

Grantham 's fat, frick that guy. He's a nobody. His "elite" defense was lit up by a rs freshman and position coach calling plays. #granthamsadouche

Grantham at Lville was playing with 2-stars. Don't be a moron.

The rejects had to sit out a year and have yet to play for Grantham at Lville.

Do you have anything else to say?

Yeah, star rating really doesn't mean a damn thing. Look at mizzou, loaded with 2 stars, and theyre back to back east champs. Louisville has legit NFL talent on both sides of the ball, just like uga, but Grantham leaves a lot to be desired.

Pinkel is a master, no argument from me.

But that doesn't make you right and me wrong.

The fact is, star ratings do matter. It has been proven. Accepting your supposition requires a willful suspension of disbelief.

Explain if one is good enough to go to the NFL, why it matters whether he was a 2 or 5 star.

CTG didn't tear anybody's ACL in '13, but I can sure as shite hang the defense giving up 353+ yards on the ground when Alabama's RBs absolutely went Duke lacrosse team on that overrated, fat frick in the '12 SECCG. Not properly substituting on the DL rotation in the second half of the same game? That's on him, too.

In what was unquestionably the most important game in UGA football history since 1980, his defensive genius cost us the victory. Don't let Bama's run game eviscerate the defense and it doesn't matter WTF Murray does with the ball with 5 sec left on the clock.

Granham's broken arse defense cost us a national championship.

Defend.
