Almost correct... Saban figured out we wouldn't stop the run because we were in pass protection playing with a lead. In the first half, Grantham stopped the run handily.

Bama led 10-7 at the half, then we went up 21-10 after a Gurley run and the blocked field goal return by Ogletree. By no means was it a lead where the defense was in prevent mode. If you're in prevent against Alabama with a eleven point lead in the SEC Championship, the DC should be fired on the spot.

by MORE NFL talent.

Without looking it up, I'd guess that our defense had as many NFL players taken in the 2013 draft as their offense, if not more, dumb frick.
quote:

Bama was in a prevent same as Grantham was. Problem is that Bama had a whole half to come back, UGA only had 2 minutes

Why in the hell was Alabama in a prevent defense when their biggest lead of the second half was 4 points? Do you really watch football? Do you understand what "prevent" defense means?

Alabama outrushed Georgia 304-72 inside the tackles during the SEC Championship Game. The Tide averaged 8.0 yards per carry on such runs, including a season-high 13 that gained 10 yards or more. Eddie Lacy (172) and T.J. Yeldon (125) led the way for Alabama, with both running backs gaining over 100 yards inside the tackles for the second time this season.

Grantham could develop some pass rushers, I will give him that. He was/is very good at that. Other than pass rushing OLBs and Tree getting by on freakish size/speed combo, name one defensive player who showed continued noticeable improvement under Grantham. Name a single year our D showed improvement as the season went on.

Those are my big criticisms of him. He plays a high risk high reward defense but is unable to adapt when he doesn't have every single player in place for the reward to pay off. That's why UGA hammered him in Charlotte, the coaches knew if we kept pounding away that his defense would break like it always does.

And no, Grantham definitely isn't responsible for all the various problems that have plagued UGA over the years. He's just responsible for some pretty shitty defenses that absolutely collapsed at the most important times (and unimportant times as well like on the road vs a bad UK team that we let physically manhandle our D).

I'm done with you sad sorry bitches. My point has been made. At this point it's not a discussion or a debate. It's just me vs ignorant titty bitches.
you have tried to make your "point" on multiple occasions. Ever find it weird you're the only one that's ever trying to make it? Here's a hint, you're not privy to some secret that no one else knows.

UT vs UGA 2012.

- 25:03, 1st quarter 6:57 left. 2nd and 4. Grantham just subbed in players. No alignment whatsoever. Several players talking to each other. One player with his hands in the air. Several players not even looking at the offense when the ball is snapped. UT 1st down.

- 1:01:34, 2nd quarter 7:14 left. 2nd and 2. UT hurries it up a bit. Players are still jogging to their positions when the ball is snapped. There is no one within 10 yards of the WR at the top of the screen. One DL is in his stance 3 yards off the ball. Luckily it was a terrible play call and UT threw a screen with no one blocking the man assigned to the WR. 2 yard loss.

- 2:22:50, 4th quarter 10:33 left. 2nd and 5. UT hurries to the line while the UGA defense is still trying to get the call. No front 7 is within a yard of the LOS. Everyone is standing around and not looking at the ball. UT runs the ball for a 3 yard gain.

No no no, deeprig assured me it never happened in 2012 and only happened once in 2013. That must be some really skilled photoshopping you did. A natural talent.

From which blog did you rip off that analysis? I know damn well you didn't find the tape on that Or maybe you did, but at least one of those is in the 4th qtr with the game well in-hand and some younger guys getting PT and I didn't see where any of those instances equated to a big play.

Deeprig is owning you fools at every turn.

Question: when Pruitt turns in equal or worse results, who gets the blame then? How many DCs has it been now? There's a common denominator here and it ain't your defensive coaching ...

I linked the youtube video of the game.

I know Tech isn't used to having double digit leads, but when is a 14 point lead, 10:33 left, and the opponent in the redzone having "the game in hand"?

UGA was playing UT. Even with all of that talent on their offense, this was a Doolander coached team. Anyone with a brain could see we struggled lining up and getting the play in during any sort of hurry up situation.

He asked to see 3 instances when we weren't lined up properly in 2012. I found 3 in one game.

You need to click on that link and skip to that time in the game and you will see that there wasn't any younger players in there only starters!

I think it's remarkable that Rig thinks 2012 HELPS his argument for Grantham. It's pretty damn clear to everyone else the guy was handed a lambo of defensive talent:

Jarvis Jones, Alec, Rambo, Cornelius, John Jenkins, Damian Swann (NFL Bound), Shawn Williams, Geathers, Herrera (NFL Bound), Garrison, Sanders Commings, and Ray Drew (Will get picked up)

And still gave up nearly 1,000 yards in their last two games including 350 Rushing yards in arguably the biggest game at UGA under Richt.

Just a quick question: what SEC defense do you consider better from that 2012 season?

No, he's playing with recruits that Strong brought in for three years.

I'm pretty sure he's a good evaluator of talent(insert facetious emoticon here)

Which ones had better talent? None. Which ones had better production? Alabama, LSU, Florida, and South Carolina.

Hard for that to happen in a game that comes down to the final possession.

Why can't people just say-

"Grantham had his ups and downs, at the end of the day, he wasn't a good fit for the program, and he got out while the gettin' was good. I wish him well, as long as it isn't against us."

Why does everyone have to be so buttslaved* by Grantham? The hate is irrational. And classless.

I have a running list of who is classy and who isn't. Just so yall know. Think of me like the Santa Clause of Class.
