What did you really expect this team to do this season? Its hard to win when both your lines suck. Your best receiver is 5'7. You have a freshman QB. And both side of the ball are learning new schemes. Get off this staff's back while they recruit the players they want. Jesus...its like a USCe board over here lately

That's not how the world works with the 24 hour news cycle man. We have to react immediately to everything

I agree that you have to allow a new head coach time to recruit players and develop a program.

But there is no explanation for why this team, even at its current talent level is not good enough to beat Vanderbilt by three TDs.

Im with you man. This season is going to suck giant goat balls but we dont have a senior class. The real threat here will be locker room mutiny and negative recruiting impact.

This team (as a whole) really isn't that talented. There are a few great players but majority of the team is mediocre. If they were that talented Richt would have been winning with them.

So, are we just going to continue lowering the bar on games we should be expected to win?

Yep. Even danced on their 50 one year after a coveted win in Mashville.

We struggled against a very bad Nicholls team and got beat by a very bad Vanderbilt team. We have MUCH better players than both of these teams.

We looked disorganized and completely lost at times. It's not necessarily that we are losing as much as how we are losing.

We have three OL projected to go to the NFL. Both lines do not suck. The DL is fine, it just lacks some depth. however, we got some of that depth back today with Ledbetter.

Your best receiver is 5'7.

No he's not. We have two receivers better than McKenzie. Ridley and Godwin. McKenzie is our most productive right now......but that's because the coaches are not getting Godwin and Ridley involved. (Although, I think some progress was made today.)

You have a freshman QB.

Who is better than what we had last year. But, yes. He has some growing to do. However, we won in his worst game to date. He has not cost us a game.

And both side of the ball are learning new schemes.

Legitimate point.

We should have ebaten vanderbilt easily with the players we have. We can't expect to win a championship until Smart gets "his" players, but it is not too much to expect that we stomp Nicholls and beat Vanderbilt with the players we have. How much of a different offensive scheme do you think Smart is going to move us to? Defensively? Our defense looked good today, most of the day.

One explanation: the game is decided on the field, not on paper. Stronger teams can have bad games, and weaker teams can have everything come together just right. Play them 10 times, we might win 9, but they still get 1 every now and again.

Dude. Do you really think Vanderbilt has more talent?

Richt averaged 9.7 wins a year while here. He DID win with that talent, and that is the point. However, most on here fell like it was time for him to go. The only people bringing Richt up now are the people that wanted him gone, trying to place this years failures on Richt.

Thats an average over 10 yrs. Kirby hasn't had 1. Right had a 6-6 season recently...or have you forgotten that?

You know, I'm not gonna sing the blame Richt it's his players song.

This loss is directly on kirby and the rest of the coaches.

Our practice squad would start at Vandy.

Tennessee and Arkansas fans tried to warn us, Chaney is legit trash at calling plays.

And I honestly didn't think it could be much worse than Schotty, but boy was I wrong.

Dude. Richt lost to Vandy. When our #1 RB, #1 WR was hurt and two incredibly bad targeting calls were made.

People keep wanting to bring up what we are missing this year. fair enough. But we have essentially the same OL, better and healthier RBs, Lost ONE WR, and have a more experienced secondary. A MUCH better QB. There is absolutely no reason our offense should be shut down. I would expect our defense to struggle somewhat because of our two top pass rushers leaving.

On the positive side, our pass rush looked MUCH stronger, today. Lorenzo Carter put constant pressure on the QB, and Roquon Smith got in and provided some pressure. Things are not as bad as they seem, but they are not good, either.

True, we are weaker in some areas...no debating that. but we are also stronger in some areas.

I think his main problem is that he thinks we HAVE to establish the run to open up the pass. It's an old axiom, but if they start off stacking the box, then it's time to take what they give you. We threw the ball extremely well, today.....we just kept going back to the run, instead of passing until they backed out of the box.

Seriously? Which is easier? have one big good year? or string 15 good strong years together? You do realize that we are not talking about mark Richt, right? we are talking about what the problem is with THIS team THIS year.

Kirby is coming into a program with more support than Richt has had over the last 5-6 years. He has a good base of players. The ONLY game we have looked good in is Tennessee. Period. (I will give you North Carolina if you insist, but we only looked pretty good in that one. We have looked disorganized and at times completely lost in games against Nicholls, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Nicholls, Vanderbilt and South Carolina are just bad teams. Really bad teams.

Tell me this...if we have MUCH better talent than a team, then what is the problem? I will agree that tennessee has more talent. Now, you tell me....what was the problem with Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Nicholls? If it's not talent.....what is it?

You're new to georgia football, aren't you?

I was talking about 2013.

ETA

By the way....Vanderbilt has now won three games. Western Kentucky. Middle Tennessee State. And us.
