One explanation: the game is decided on the field, not on paper. Stronger teams can have bad games,

This is true. And if we did not have Nicholls, South Carolina and Missouri to look at that would be a good explanation. but we have a LOT more talent than those teams. So why are they playing us close or beating us?
None of those teams should have been within 3 TDs of us.

Yet, you didn't recognize the situation with a game played 3 years ago?
Let's see. You remember a game from 7 years ago, but not one from 3 years ago?

The first sign of arguing with an intelligent poster. he shouts to shut up using profanity.

quote:

no...youre content bitching.

Dude. I pointed out what kirby did wrong. That's not ok? YOU straighten me out. We have a LOT more talent on our roster than Vanderbilt, Nicholls and South Carolina. You tell me. If talent was not the problem....what was the problem?

quote:

bitch when richt loses

Nope. I was one of Richt's biggest boosters and argued with people why he should stay. However, I too came to agree, reluctantly, that he could not get us to the next level, and should go. However, he is gone. Yet people like you continue to try to blame everything on Richt. I have NEVER (Since he was fired) brought Richt up in a thread. He is gone. I have moved on. It's time for you to move on, too.

So....when we have a LOT more talent than another team, yet they either play us WAY too close or worse yet, beat us...what is to blame? Not talent. Since you are so well versed with the team, I'm sure you have a logical explanation. I'll be waiting.

Dude. Richt lost to Vandy. When our #1 RB, #1 WR was hurt and two incredibly bad targeting calls were made

He also lost a close home game to an awful Vandy team. He had a freshman QB, terrible OL, and not good WRs. Sound familiar?

Bounced back pretty good, too, didn't he?

Richt had his bad games. I don't remember os many bad games in one year, though. Not against teams we had such a huge talent advantage over. Do you? I mean....honestly? Nicholls? Georgia, as far as I remember has never played a worse team. EVER. Check out their records against horrible teams over the last 5-6 years and you will get my point.

Vanderbilt has won 3 games this year. Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky......and us.

I'm still in the "Give CKS time" camp,

But

I saw us losing to UF, Ole Miss, & Tenn.

There's never any excuse to lose to Vandy-at home no less.

I'm just as pissed off as everyone else but i won't join up with my pitchfork unless we show this same lack of execution next year.

It's been obvious for a few weeks now, and those of us who have been pointing it out (I know you have been one, too) have been harassed and made to feel like we are idiots.

I haven't seen anybody say he should be fired. I have only seen some criticize him. Don't put words in our mouths, or you will find us putting words in yours. (Not said in a mean, or upset tone, since emotions can't be read in print)

All I am saying is there are no pitchforks out....just pointing out mistakes and venting aggravation.

Better be careful, you just criticized Kirby Smart. You will be argued with, told to shut up, and accused of wanting him fired.

None of the three beat us this year. SC has played us pretty close over the last couple of decades - big wins by either team are kind of an outlier. The UGA-Mizzou series has been relatively balanced. They beat us badly once, we beat them badly twice, and the other two games have been decided by a grand total of four points.

but we have a LOT more talent than those teams.

But again, that's on paper. We've got two supposedly talented quarterbacks (Lambert and Ramsey) who haven't delivered, so maybe they're not really as good as they were listed. We've got receivers who can't catch, so again, maybe not as good in reality as they are on paper.

Cal State Fullerton - they disbanded their program the very next season.

Correct. Do you think we played them up to our potential, though? I mean......Richt got roundly criticized for playing Georgia Southern close and they went to a bowl game last year.

But they are awful, right now. We beat them by 40 points or something last year. Do you think they got that much better?

I'm pretty sure it hasn't. (I could be wrong...) They've only beaten us once, haven't they? And they are another awful team. Which one was it.....Missouri or South Carolina got beat by kentucky, this year?

But again, that's on paper.

We can't argue that the ratings are pretty accurate at predicting success, and then dismiss them when we have a lot of talent and aren't playing well.

They actually seem to be doing better. At least today.

Can you name one other team that has recruited as well as us and have done as poorly? can we really be so unlucky that all of our top recruits were overrated?

What I said was in relation to the fair-weather Richt lovers who keep yelling "fire, fire, fire" every 5 minutes on here.

Don't see how that's putting words in people's mouths when it's pretty clear who they are.

Agree. Smart was dealt a pretty weak hand. Now granted he's not doing more with less as a first year HC but the less part is at least half of the issue.

Mind pointing out these "fire, fire, fire" [posts? I honestly haven't seen them. I have seen people criticize Smart, but I have not seen the "fire, fire, fire" posts.

Oh. And most of the people criticizing Smart right now did not like Mark Richt. You really need to get the feel of the land before you start labeling the posters on here. of the

Seriously? You are another thinking that Vanderbilt and Nicholls has more talent?

Actually, right now he is doing less with more. he did less against Vanderbilt. He did less against Nicholls. He did less against Missouri. Do you honestly believe we have less talent than those three schools? Or do you think that Ole Miss had 35 points more talent than we have? Don't look now, but Ole Miss is about to lose their third game of the year, and could easily lose two more after that.
