Roger, you and Cooter clearly struggle with the correct definition of speculation

People stating their personal opinion regarding rumors does not validate the rumors, it is speculation based on the rumors

I can assure you that the Internet and social media are not going away. There is going to be some method for fans to communicate their views on what's going on with A&M sports in real time from here on out.

Absolutely! And that's the question here. It's not going away. So how do you manage it? Because as I sit, we're doing an incredibly shitty job. As is LSU. As is Texas. yada yada

Agreed. It goes with the territory. But criticism doesn't need hyperbolic bullshite to be on point (and I say that as someone that loves him some hyperbole)

TCU was not more deserving than Vanderbilt (which played out in Omaha)

You're really unbelievable. You're actually trying to weasel out of the libel you posted.

"I disagree with the committee's reasoning for putting TCU ahead of A&M. They had a worse SOS, worse RPI, worse nonconference record, and were in a far weaker conference."

Vs Hyman's puff piece glowing review of TCU.

You ADVOCATE for your school even after the fact so that, in future committees, you get the benefit of the doubt. It's called a SHAPING operation and he failed horribly.

UCLA was the #1 overall seed and despite getting bounced from their own regional, will get the benefit of the doubt over A&M now and in the future because their AD cares enough to advocate on their behalf.

Quote? Link? And you're still ignoring this utter bullshite:

Do you really think they would include that in the transcript?

Just like the shows where Liucci rudely cuts off Bock even though we know it happened but they're mysteriously absent from the transcript.

Surely you're not naive enough to believe that transcripts aren't doctored after the fact to prevent unpleasant leaks. Talk shows do it all the time.

The transcripts ARE in fact doctored to cut out Gabe's questions. It's all Hyman.

Your problem is the full audio is at that link, too. Give it up, man.

The only practical strategy I see for A&M is to manage the expectations of the fanbase, since managing the online behavior of the fans is impossible.

I'd start by being more open about game suspensions before the fact, such as Murray at the Ole Miss game. I'd also rethink this "We don't discuss injuries, except when we do" policy. We knew Hilliard had some kind of wrist injury, but Allen's injury was apparently top secret.

Some online vitriol questions the coaching IQ of the coaches. Have you ever seen that Film Room show on the SEC network? It's pretty good Xs and Os talk with a coach explaining what they did and why. How about adding some of that commentary to The Pulse to go with highlights? A window into what we were trying to do and why would be useful. It might educate the fan with just superficial knowledge and help create a smarter fan.

I don't know. If you want the fans to start seeing the game more like the coaches, why not try coaching them up some more?

We're "beneath them". Why would they do something like that.

I think those are good PR suggestions. I would suggest recapping major injury impacts in the first weekly press conference after the player in question misses a game. You can use the "day-to-day" recovery status if you want to keep future opponents guessing.

There was no competitive advantage for not disclosing that Kyle Allen missed the Ole Miss game because of the shoulder injury he aggravated in the Alabama game. All future opponents would clearly have seen the injury when they were reviewing the Alabama game tape.

An easy one on full game suspensions is that the impacted player does not dress out or travel. We don't seem to have a problem announcing half game suspensions.

Oh, I think you do. That all sounds good to me.

I'm not sure Sumlin has it in him to be more open, though. (A legitimate gripe, not made up nonsense.) The way he handled Kyle was just bizarre to me.

I tend to agree with what you said, tmc. As I've read all the posts saying Sumlin has a drug and drinking problem, I've wondered why we're spreading rumors. It is like you said, if you say/hear something long enough you begin to believe it. I don't know what's true in all this but I don't believe in tearing someone down like that. Without proof it's just hearsay. Can't we look at the positives? We're not where we want to be as a program but we're a far cry from where we were. We've won three straight bowl games under Sumlin. Give him some time to right this ship. Everyone take a deep breath....now relax.

Sumlin is a drunk, cokehead who has had multiple DUIs swept under the rug, shows up to recruiting drunk, goes to media events drunk, cusses out player's parents, lies to our biggest donors, and who I could totally see going a little Sandusky sometimes. And he's been our head coach for 4 years.

Texas A&M has pulled off the second largest cover up in the history of man. Behind 9/11 of course.

You can't not prove that it's not true and three lefts make a right and two no's make a yes, so...it's all true.
