Wide receiver or corner?

We haven't given him a position yet (we told him athlete). I tend to think he'll end up as a corner but he plays safety/QB in high school. I sort of think we're not telling him because we don't want the numbers to look too overloaded

I noticed that Ed Oliver was there for the Miss. State game. I think that is the 3rd time he has showed up for a game this year.

He's a 5* recruit committed to Univ. of Houston, but man, he sure does seem to find himself at Kyle Field alot.

He comes with his HS teammate, Tyrie Cleveland, who looks like he's favoring A&M at this point. Obviously a good sign Ed is coming to games, but still think he's solid to Houston

Ed has some sort of strange obsessive love for the city of Houston and refuses to leave it. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Just looked at the 247 team rankings. I knew we werent recruiting lights out, but out of 16 commits only FOUR are considered four stars, the rest three stars. Pretty shocking tbh.

I've had to fight my instincts to go with the rankings, but the staff seems really high on all the "3 stars." Also, a good number of guys we are in good position for are Top 150 in the country kid of guys.

I'm starting to really trust this staff when it comes to player evaluation

As am I. Hard to argue with their evals with guys like Josh Reynolds and Donovan Wilson.

It seems to me that they changed tactics when it comes to recruiting. In the beginning, it was all-stars, all the time. Then, after a lot of those guys washed-out, particularly that one class, they've slowly but surely de-emphasized star count and gone more after their own evals.

Yeah but look at who is assigning stars, I get that star ratings are a fair indicator of talent but a lot of these kids get big star ratings when they are young and are bigger and stronger than their competition and once they are highly rated they don't seem to be downgraded when the competition catches up.

Especially on the defense now that Chavis is here.

At the end of the day we don't NEED a top 10 or even a top 15 class. Top 20 would work just fine as long as TCU and Baylor do worse for perception. Right now only TCU is ahead of us.

Just get the 1st and 2nd choices that the coaches want regardless of ranking

It's the top-star-difference maker-can't miss guys that it's important to land.

It's Garrett, Noil, Kirk, Allen, Mack that will take us from where we've been to where we wanna be. Those are the type of players that Never would even consider A&M pre-SEC.

Go out a land Brandon Jones and Little and McCulloch/Divinity. We really need an immediate difference maker at OL and LB

We offered Moses in April. And he still had a commitable offer when we're 5-0 and ranked #9. That tells me they see something they really like. This isn't the case where all our top choices passed us over and we're tying to fill out a class with need positions.

And Baylor, TCU, and Mizzou also had all offered by mid May. Briles, Patterson and Pinkel have made their living uncovering the hidden gems, often in Texas. It's always nice to get a Myles Garrett, who is the bluest of the blue chips, and it's obvious to every staff in the nation. And yes, over time 5 stars as a group will outperform 3 stars as a group. But for an individual player, I'll take the opinions of Sumlin, Briles, Patterson, and Pinkel over the opinions of 24/7, Rivals, Scout, and ESPN.

Is there anywhere else that Brandon Jones would go? Also, any idea about a visitor list for next weekend? Have to imagine it will be epic.
