By all accounts, Drew Richmond is going to be a really good player for us. He's our sure-fire starter at LT next year.

Very happy that Butch has built our team to a point where we can afford to give future contributors a red-shirt year. We haven't had that in quite some time.

I had no idea.

Today was honestly the first time I've even heard Simmons. There was a 247 article with our name in it, along with 4 other SEC schools, and I couldn't find a dedicated thread on the board. So, I figured I'd get one rolling.

Butch has done an excellent job building the roster even with some of the shady stuff. Overall, he has done a good job, just can't forgive a couple of games this season.

Our lines should be downright nasty very soon.

Nothing wrong with some discussion.

2nd best rushing offense in the SEC, but keep pretending like you know what the frick you're talking about

OM had the 3rd best rushing offense in the league in 2010 and returned all 5 OL starters and had the worst OL in the country in 2011. We had Masoli, yall have Dobbs with a great RB combo. You know your OL sucks. You know if Richmond were the 3 and gone tackle that everyone thought he was, he would not have RS. You are arguing just to argue which makes you a chode

Our starting LT is a fifth year senior, and three year starter, who came into the program as a consensus four star with offers from Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Stanford, USC, UCLA, and on, and on, etc. Our OL, and offense, was pretty effective this year. One of the best rushing attacks in the nation, no question.

Richmond will start next year as a RS Freshman. We obviously haven't seen him in game action, but by all accounts he is a very good player.

Ole Miss will pull a Bassfield move and make a major investment in Noxubee County.

This is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever seen on this site. Plenty of stud OLs red-shirt. In fact, true freshmen starting at OL is more an indictment on the current depth than red-shirting is for a freshman OL.

Here are some first-round OLs in the past four drafts that red-shirted.

'15: Brandon Scherff, Cedric Ogbuehi, Cameron Irving
'14: Greg Robinson, Taylor Lewan, Zack Martin
'13: Lane Johnson, Jonathan Cooper, DJ Fluker
'12: Matt Kalil, Riley Reiff

That's 11/21 first-round OLs who red-shirted. That doesn't include guys who played different positions or played just enough snaps to burn their redshirt.

I understand that Ole Miss has managed to have two elite left tackles recently, but don't act like taking a red-shirt proves somebody isn't talented

Yeah I think he was, too. I hate when threads get hijacked over here with "so and so has no chance," "your a idiot" and shite like that. Simmons OV'd to Tennessee so there's definitely some interest but you know how Mississippi kids are, they typically like to stay close to home.

I never claimed Freeze was smart. Just that he dropped change in Bassfield.

Do our previous investments in Noxubee County that sent us their only other blue chip prospects have any rollover effect or are we gonna have drop some new "change" to convince a kid to go to a school that has all the momentum in the state, in a better town, with better women, at a program where the head coach actually wants to be there, where he gets to not be the only top 100 player in the class?

First of all, the better women are at State. Second of all, no Mississippi kid gives a shite about momentum, he probably grew up a fan of one or the other and that's all that will matter in the end.

Not at all. I fully acknowledge that there are OM fans in MS. We aren't going to get every kid. I grew up a State fan and can't think of anything that would persuade me to play for OM, I know OM fans feel the same way toward us.

I'm just saying that if he grew up a State fan, he's going to end up at State. If he grew up an Ole Miss fan, he's going to end up at Ole Miss. However, I assume there are also a few kids in the grey area who don't have a preference. I have no idea which of the three categories he falls under.

That's if all things are equal, and for Simmons, they really shouldn't be if he is smart. Here is why.

Our current staff's DL's in the league:

Josh Boyd
Fletcher Cox
Preston Smith
Pernell McPhee
Denico Autry
Kaleb Eulls
Kyle Love

Your current staff's DL's in the league:
