How about Bob Stull over Missouri native and a former mizzou qb Bill Snyder

A&M had Urban Meyer in for an interview and then six days later inked Dennis Franchione.
You'll have to read that about five or six times before it sinks in.

Was that the game where Auburn had three or four INTs returned for TDs in about a ten minute span in the 4th?

When you take into account what he did at Louisville, Schnellenberger is a top 10 all time coach... At least of the last 35 years.

Yep. I lost a tv that day

Dennis Franchione instead of Urban Meyer
Mike Sherman instead of Brian Kelly

I just won't go that far. What he did there was impressive, but he really lacked longterm consistency and was never really able to prove he could.
He just doesn't belong with names like Bryant, Paterno, Bowden, Osborne, Wilkinson, Neyland, Hayes, McKay, Royal, Parseghian, ect.

So in a few years it will be Kevin Sumlin instead of xxx?

Jennings B. Whitworth
From 1955 to 1957, he coached at Alabama, where he posted a 4–24–2 record that included a 14-game losing streak from 1955 to 1956

Bobby Bowden in 1987 when he was hitting his stride. We got Bill Curry

Nice try.
Dennis Franchione, years 1-2 combined: 11 wins
Kevin Sumlin, year 1: 11 wins
Mike Sherman, years 1-2 combined: 10 wins
Kevin Sumlin, year 1: 11 wins
If A&M manages to go 14-0 this year, Kevin Sumlin will have as many wins in 2 seasons as Mike Sherman did in his entire tenure and only 7 less than Franchione did over 5 years.

Yes.
I think they'll turn on him the season after this one.

On a related note, someone started a thread a few minutes ago asking who is the most delusional fanbase after one win.
If you haven't decided the answer to that question, see above.

Would have been great to see what Bowden could have done at Bama, as I recall he took his name out of consideration when the AD insisted he "interview" for the job
