I agree with you. H2H should matter, but it shouldn't be the only data point when comparing teams.

Big assumption about Texas winning.

That would be a choke job that rivals the 1996 Big 12 Championship game.

UGA wins big and makes everyone remembers why Saban hated Milore earlier in the year anyway. Nothing to see here.

I ask you all, sincerely, how to you leave the SEC completely out of the playoffs?

The SEC almost always wins the playoffs.

Any criteria that leaves the SEC out of the playoffs is rather suspect if you've watched college football for the last 20 years.

You answered your question.

uGA is the SEC's sure shot to get in and is a deserving team.

We saw it to a degree in recent years; the CFP committee is working for survival with the hope of breaking their national perception of SEC bias. Plus, it's a destined PAC send-off year.

The worst case for the SEC is that Bama wins vs UGA. It places all of the hope on external factors.

Bama has a path to the CFPs, but it requires an FSU, UM, or UTx loss. The only other, least likely, option is that Bama absolutely destroys UGA, and all others look REAALLLLLY bad in their wins.

Think about it. Lose = Out, obviously. Win = 1. Michigan 2. Winner of Oregon/Washington 3. FSU 4. Texas Absolutely no way the committee puts in Alabama over UT when UT beat them straight up at home. Ain't gonna happen.

Firstly and mostly, I don’t think Bama will win.
Secondly and realistically, who gives a flip about watching FSU play Michigan or Oregon. DISNEY will decide who gets in. Leaving out the SEC eyeballs will cost Disney.

Thirdly and lastly, if we should beat Georgia, not only will we be SEC champs, but to me and most SEC fans, the winner is the real National Champ.

You’re making a lot of bold assumptions. Nothing you’re claiming is a given. No team looks like the clear cut dominant team. Anyone can lose this weekend.

In years past I would agree. I just don’t think the gap between the SEC and everyone else is as big as it used to be. Whoever wins the NC will have to fight for it.

Not sure why Oregon isnsuch a shoe in when you look at their schedule. If Alabama upsets Georgia and Oregon wins here are their two teams resumes:

Oregon: Wins over #3 Washington and #20 Oregon State and teams with an overall 59-73 win/loss record

Alabama: Wins over #1 Georgia, #11 Ole Miss, #13 LSU, and #21 Tennessee

If this is Oregon, you're talking about 2 one-loss conference champs.

1. Michigan
3. FSU
4. Texas

You're assuming all 3 of these teams win.

Uh, you might want to rethink that statement. If Alabama beats Georgia, they will be ranked higher than Georgia. Therefore Texas would have the best win since they beat Bama.

First, I will say that Bama has a huge challenge in posting a win on Saturday against UGA. However, if they do pull off the win, there is a 100% chance get get into the playoff. There is no way the committee leaves out a 12-1 SEC champ who went undefeated in the SEC and beat the #1 team in the country the last week of the season.

Not a chance they get left out. The question is, does UGA also get in. I do believe with a Bama win and Texas win, they both are in and FSU is likely sitting at home.

11-1 and playing in SEC Championship is a ‘decline’?

What do you call LSU’s 4 losses a season?

A rebuild, because that’s what it has been. Not a bad one either.
