Tony Barnhardt and the Dave that host the CSS Talkin Football both picked us as their dark horse to win the west.

We return everyone outside of Brandon Moseley. Yes, that means AJ Green is gone. Instant upgrade.

To clarify by dark horse I mean if someone other than LSU or Bama win the west they expect it to be us.

Thus the reason for him talking about them being ranked last year when they clearly didn't deserve it.

Not a bad pick.

People called Herbie an idiot when he predicted us to go 11-1 in 2010.

and QB is gonna be an upgrade from last season.

Sometimes things do get worse. I know those 12 pass attempts from Frazier and the zero from Pike gave you a keen look into the 2012 season, but a little caution please. You're starting to sound like an LSU fan.

How am I sounding like a LSU fan? Although I do agree with them for the most part, they've been claiming that Mettenberger will be a top 5, possibly top 3, quarterback next season. All I said was that we would upgrade at the position. Frazier, right now, is looking better than Moseley and Trotter ever did. It's not like any of the 3 have great skills when it comes to passing anyways, and when things break down, Frazier is a huge threat to run.

OL will be better this year, even though it may be younger IMO

For the same reason there won't be much love in the postseason polls

Did you watch Moseley last year? It can't get worse than that. Frazier showed tremendous progress passing the ball in the spring according to all who watched practices/scrimmages, and knows the playbook better than he knew Malzahn's. Malzahn handcuffed him last year and it showed. I'm not saying he'll be spectacular, but we'll be better at the QB position, I have very little doubt

Why no love for Auburn? My guess is they saw what the two QB's could not do in the bowl when the forgotten bench warmer had to come in and steady the dinghy.
New OC and DC with the big (?) left in their mouths from the QB.

In the best way possible, yes...

I still remember when everyone was claiming Auburn would finish 8-5.

Surely you can concede that Auburn isn't your typical case of this though:

2009: 7-5
2010: Acquire a 1-and-done of the best college football player ever, 14-0
2011: Lose said player, 7-5

Big question about the offense - no Malzahn, no proven QB. Also, for those looking more in depth at last season they see that Auburn was not that far from having a losing record.

Most are probably assuming losses to at least LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia.
