cause we come from a conference without a lot of baseball history (the Texas schools added some when the Big 8 expanded to the Big 12), limited historical success in the sport, two MLB franchises within 120 miles of campus, poor baseball facilities, weather not as aptly suited for Spring baseball as parts of the deep South and West, lack of financial investment in the sport from the A.D., the list goes on...
Sounds like someones a perfect fit for the Big 10.

Porker, I know you're trolling but in all honesty, I wish it was taken more serious and had a stronger following. No matter the sport, I enjoy the college game more than the pros. Die hard Cardinal fan, but there is just something about watching kids run on and off the field that appeals to me.

I laughed.

In baseball, probably. Kentucky is about as terrible as we are in terms of baseball support.
In football, we're right at home in the SEC.

We were solid from 2005-2011. Now we have guy with Parkinsons trying to convince recruits to come play for him. Our team this year has NINE new scholorship players.
That ain't nothing we have a guy coaching us nobody has ever heard of and SEVEN scholarship players

Those are both conscious choices on y'all's part
I'm not flaming. I think it is strange that such passionate fans (Cardinals) just DGAF about any other level of baseball than MLB. It's the same sport as far as I'm concerned

Thanks Bryant. How's he looked in the brief glimpses we've had so far?

I really start getting into it once conference play begins in January. The season starts too soon imo (except for our annual beatdown of FSU).

State is/has been a pretty good basketball school, just been snakebitten(undercoached) in March and on a massive rebuild now. If you look from the mid 90s till now in win percentage, we are in the next tier behind UK... I forget the actual numbers.

Not fair, you can't take a sig quote from something I said during truth time!

Why do Missouri fans dislike college baseball and make their apathy toward the sport apparent in all related threads?
When the Big 12 started, none of the north schools had *any* facilities... Colorado didn't have a team.
Nebraska teamed up with a minor league team in Lincoln and built a palace. Missouri and K-State both built new parks (actually, almost the same park if you go to both of them). Kansas even put some money into its park and started charging admission, which they didn't do my first trip there in 2002. Iowa State was playing at city in Ames, and dropped baseball after 2001.
Tim Jamieson has done a pretty damn good job at Missouri. Given the Cardinals popularity and the mid-latitude climate, I think he's done more than I could have imagined.

Pretty much spot on, nice sig pic btw.

Porker, it's tough on us Yankees. We still have snow when the college season starts. I don't disagree with you that it's still the same sport. In fact, I'd argue college baseball is a more pure form of the game. Students at the southern schools can hang out in the sun, drink beer and catch a game. Not exactly going to do that when it's 40 out.

Kentucky just screams "south". Missouri? Eh..

Agree to disagree. I mean this with complete sincerity, I think you would have been better off with Nebraska in the Big 10. You guys could have owned that conference in a few years with the influx of southern talent they rarely see up there. In the SEC, you're one of about ten schools who does the same.

To be expected I suppose. I'll follow you guys though if nothing else, to see what we missed out on and think of all the what could have beens if he came to Mizzou.

I <3 Gamecock basketball. We have a little bit of history in the sport and I hate how bad we've been lately. Hell our fan base will put itself behind basketball 100% if they weren't so bad lately (why else would we have an 18,000 seat arena if our fans could never fill it)
It'll be a slow march but we'll get there under Martin.
