Um...given how much crap Foley went through to get McElwain, unless he's a complete failure this season I can't see him letting Texas take him. Foley might be hesitant to open up early but he's stubborn he'd make Texas go to Saban level money to get McElwain.

People may laugh at this, but that's not a bad fit. Offense reigns supreme in the Big 12 and the way he reels in offensive talent and recruits the state is what Texas needs. Thing is, he's already established a culture at TAMU.
I mean they've never had recruiting this good and in year 3 with Chavis is when the team comes together. He just needs to recruit better RB talent. I'm not talking rankings either.

The running back talent is fine, they just need to be healthy and able to play.
Kendall Bussey was held out due to an injury and James White got knocked out of the game in the first quarter, leaving Carson as the only scholarship back even available without having to go to Brandon Williams.

What you forget is our SEC move is our reaction to THEIR move to upset the competitive balance via the
They are locked into their path contractually. We just made the better chess move.

They will replace him after this season,IMO.
Agreed, he's been disastrous for Texas make no bones about it. I wonder why it didn't work he seemed groomed for the slot and took a careful approach, but he and his staff are pure shite on a stick.

They always talk about how important academics are and why they will never join the SEC so only Vanderbilt would be a SEC choice.

Bert would be a good fit. A much bigger stage when you are winning, superior recruiting ground, better support, less competition in-league, etc.
Plus, wait until he finds out they have breakfast tacos and sell bbq by the pound.

At least the Mizzou folks keep their kansas issues to a tolerable level, and mostly on their own board.

I have a feeling Clemson will be feeling the effects of that loss this season.
I doubt you know much if anything about the new OCs and Clemson's players.
Cole Stoudt had the best game of his career in the bowl game last year against Oklahoma, the first game after the Chad left.
Chad was the OC during for 3 or 4 losses to SC, two of which Clem had the talent to win. He also was OC when we lost bad to FSU at home, to UGA on the road last year (stagnant offense). We also had some bad losses to NC State and G Tech under him.
Boyd had to make a clutch 4th and 16 pass late in the game to beat LSU in that bowl game, even though Clem was more talented team.

Dabo is actually a good pick fwiw.
Would Texas alum get on board for Jimbo and his perceived situational ethics?

They would find a way to rationalize it, especially if they keep free falling. The fact that not just A&M but Baylol and Purple Baylol are doing better and getting more attention than they are will push them to do things they claim to be against. They'll just put it all into the spin machine and justify it.
