Strong will get at least 3. Mack left nothing, and Charlie took out the trash when he got there. Takes a while to clean that mess up.

Tremendous strategic blunder not to go after Briles once Saban was a no. Briles at Texas...that would be something.

They were too damned cocky to have "settled" for his country arse. Too "Texas Monthly" for his twang talk.

They've "evolved" beyond the Darrell Royal Days. Thank God. Last thing we need is another Darrell frickin' Royal.

If Sumlin is at A&M and A&M is winning then they will NOT follow Strong with a white guy. They will seek out the most promising black head coach under 45 years of age. Mark my words.

Now, what would be interesting if Texas not only went after an SEC coach, but entering the SEC itself. They could bring a lot to the table.

I could see it happening... 10 years down the road. The last conference realignment was huge but the next one will be very interesting.

I'm not sure I can see them checking their ego. They pretty much run the Big 12 (which they ran into the ground). Can't see that program being ok with not being the only big money program around.

That's exactly it.
Some of those post-game presser quotes last night ... brutal.
I wanted to crawl under a table on his behalf.

Not to be a smartass, but have you forgotten what has happened to every place Kiffin has been the HC at? He may be a great

No insult taken. Yes, I agree with you. Kiffin was given opportunities because of his dad. He was immature. I believe people can learn and grow.

Kiffin I feel would fit the culture at Texas. Many Texas fans are always talking down about the SEC but secretly wish they were a part. Kiffin would bring youth, knowledge of SEC recruiting, high powered offense, and like Sumlin, he'd find a muschamp etc to handle the defense.

Most importantly, he'd give Sumlin a run for his money recruiting wise.

They don't really have a choice. Mo money mo problems. It'll be 10 years before they dip in the red and that's when they'll start playing Russian Roulette.

I feel bad for the guy honestly. They fired a successful long time head coach and pinned all the failures on Mack. Kicking Mack to the curb was going to make them relevant again. It just took a new coach. Charlie was supposed to be the instant rejuvenater.

I think that program needed a Saban (which is ambitious..who doesn't want a saban.) They needed a successful, national championship winning coach who has dealt with the pressures of a major program who expects titles.

Charlie lacks the spark you look for in a man.

Sumlin would last twice as long as Strong, and then be fired.

They were awful and couldn't tackle someone standing still his last 2 years. If they were 4 and 5 stars, then they got coached down badly.

If Arizona St continues with a successful season watch for Todd Graham. Ties to the AD and tons of ties to the state.

Also, how long til they realize A&M in the SEC is a serious detriment to their program, how do they solve that?

Try to join SEC themselves?

Try politics & cash to work a deal for A&M to go somewhere with them (B1G or something)?
