Late to this. While I have no problem with SU and wish them well, this last statement is ludicrous.

The LSU campus is surrounded by water...lakes to the east, river to the west. To the south are homes $500K+. Across the lakes the homes are in the million dollar range.
When is the last time you've been to Tigerland and Gardere?
Honestly you can say the same thing about North Baton Rouge, If you look at the Zachary & Central area. LSU is surrounded by just as much "hood" as Southern.

That area has the hottest properties for gentrification and redevelopment in the Baton Rouge area. Go look if you don't believe me.

People have been saying that for the past 15 years. Besides the new Stadium View apartment complex, the McKinley Area looks exactly the same.

bullshite. They don't want to play us, either, so both schools are satisfied not to play each other.

I literally want them to play us solely because they'll play neck (in the SU style) and our student section will be confused as hell and start singing it.

Both the bands are apparently debuting new shows this weekend. Sounds like halftime is going to rock this week.

Are you shitting me? UGA scheduled a SWAC school?

You should lose ranking for playing them, but it's the best college band you'll ever hear.

Never heard anyone from SU talk bad about the school unless they either got kicked out or flunked out.

SU students and supporters are VERY loyal to SU

IIRC, SU had the #1 pick in the MLB draft a few years back. Its a damn shame what has happened to SWAC football. Commissioner Sharp needs to go

I don't think so, UGA's band has had some great shows the last few years. Their baton twirlers also throw fire.

Don't blame me because the SWAC isn't what it used to be. Coaching is the biggest problem after money. Honestly, I think it's sad. JSU and Alcorn ST used to pack 50-60k at Memorial Stadium in Jackson. Those were the days.

dumb coaching and dumb decisions by the SWAC front office is what happened.

JSU still fills up Memorial. Its Alcorn who doesn't hold up their end. Whenever they play in Itta Bena, JSU packs the visitor side. With the recent success Alcorn has had the past few years, I expect a big crowd at Memorial this year

I was in NOLA this summer, staying at the Hilton Riverside around the same time as a Southern alumnus event there, and I came away impressed the people I met. Imo, very educated and classy. Same happened when many came to Ruston for the Tech game.
