They will obviously get blown out by UGA, but they are in no way a terrible team (by their standards at least). They'll likely win the SWAC.

For all yall scared of black people, stay home please and let the Bulldog and Jaguar nations enjoy the game in peace.

Southern is actually not bad in the SWAC, but they pose no challenge to the UGA 3rd string.

Haftime show should be cool though.

No doubt. Them and Grambling put out some legit players in the 70's/80's

eta:General Russel Honore

Bad arse motherfricker. We had him at our main office give a speech about a year ago. He made Nagin and Blanco look like idiots during Katrina.

Yea they gave Jackson State a good arse kicking yesterday. This game will be over before the 1st quarter though. I really wish the SWAC and other FCS teams stop playing schools like UGA but they need the money, and I cant blame them.

At least the Human Jukebox will show up and show out

Ping Pong-If you have paid any attention LSU is located in the "hood" also. And if you look around I'm sure you will notice that half the players or more playing college football at least in the power 5 conferences come from the "hood".

You must not have noticed UGA's roster or sideline the last few decades.

There's very little advantage (other than guaranteed w) to playing teams like this imo. They don't travel well to college towns like ours. Local businesses (restaurant, bar,motel/hotel,etc) that rely on football season to stay in the black don't get a bump from these games. The university spends 6-700 k and the community is lucky to recover 1/3 of it. It's just not a good business decision.

An HBCU in Baton Rouge,LA. Football team is terrible. Band is awesome. Better hope UGA isn't some petty cheap POS thugs like LSU or they won't even get a chance to see them
The Southern Band, (Aka the "Human Jukebox") is very entertaining and UGA fans will enjoy them IF they make the trip to Athens.

BTW, speaking of Band, the LSUAD is in "Deep Doo Doo" with the LSU Nation for not allowing the Auburn Band to perform at half-time of the game Saturday.

It's totally unacceptable and inexcusable. The FULL Auburn Band made the trip to BR and the LSUAD would not let them perform for some unknown reason and a lot of people are upset on both sides.

Sets a dangerous precedent too. College football is about traditions, marching bands and all that good stuff. It isn't the freaking NFL and Alums/Fans from schools with the strongest traditions don't like having "Suits" in their respective schools Athletic Departments changing those time honored traditions for no good reason.

Several years ago, the LSUAD started playing music over the loud speakers (NFL style) in Tiger Stadium. Just about everybody hates it. Totally takes away and minimizes the Tiger Band. Now, this year, they have scheduled "Rock Bands" to come in and play along with Tiger Band for two games.

And now, the latest situation just popped up this past Saturday with the Auburn Band. People are PO'ed.

Stay tuned because something is brewing here...........

In the first half. Surely, Mark Richt will try everything possbile not to run up the score and will have a hard time keeping it below 70.

In all seriousness, not many people in their fanbase could afford to travel to Georgia. For most of those folks, driving over the Mississippi bridge to Port Allen is a vacation.

Parents are graduates and are going with 5 friends who are graduates as well. Southern fans are nice and as hospitable as LSU fans. Smh at how racist this board is become

Lets just say there is a reason LSU wont invite them to come play in Tiger Stadium.

No, let's just say your statement is ignorant, and racist.

Southern football fans are very well-behaved, and travel as well as any fanbase in their league. Ask UL-Lafayette what it is like to schedule Southern. They've done it twice in the last five years, and set an attendance record in one of the games.

And, no, you probably won't see many Southern fans in Athens. They know the difference between the SWAC and the SEC, and they know the game is a payday for them, nothing more.

enhanced police presence will be needed in Athens this weekend?

Dude stop. The both of you sound like jackass. Southern has a very nice community. They will travel well because they alway do. I believe the SWAC leads the FCS in game attendance. They packed LA Tech Stadium, they packed ULL stadium twice. They will bring an decent amount to Athens.
