Last year on the Saturday before signing day I posted that Cyrus was more than likely going to commit to AU. There are others - like when I said that AU put on a clinic in handling the Cam thing and nothing would happen to them over that even when other posters were swearing (hoping) something would.
To the couple of AU posters who question me - that's cool. No worries here. Just ignore my posts since there is nothing of value for you in them. Also - I've offered to meet up with Parkjas and reach out to my friend with AU contacts so that he could have his doubts addressed. I offered that b/c I like the guy. I'd do the same for probably half a dozen other AU posters on here.
To the AU posters who vouched for me - appreciate it. I really enjoy this site and the interaction with other fans. I think most of you know that I couldn't care less about "e-cred".

that's certainly understandable that you would do that. I shared Stoops' side of it only b/c that's the side I know. Perhaps Chiz didn't like him either and wanted to go in another direction. It's possible. However, I was told last Tuesday night that Chiz & Stoops had met on either last Monday or Tuesday and that it would take "a boat load of money" for Stoops to take the job. That was told to me by someone who talked directly to Stoops.
When AU posters started mentioning Jeff Lee's whole "could happen today" comments, I reached back out to my friend and asked if Stoops got that boatload of money he was looking for from AU. He said AU had put together something just north of $1M/, but that he didn't expect Stoops to take it.
I shared the side I know. I didn't share Chizik's side b/c it would have been only speculative.

I don't know what you are talking about, everyone working in UA's AD is spawned directly off of Saban. Haven't you heard? He buds. All his little minions, running that shite in TTown

Not on everything. He doesn't get it all right and some of the other stuff I don't appreciate him saying because it cannot be proven on here. Nor has it been proven by anyone and I always hold his feet to the fire for that.
However, over the time I have been here he has been right in things he has said. Is he the Auburn Tiger whisperer? No, but offers some insight into a situation here and there. I don't expect everyone to accept what I say, but he was being attacked and bammer or not I offered my support based on what I know of him.
It really is not that big of a deal. This is a message board and you have to take things with a grain of salt. You also can figure out who is a pretender of info and someone who actually has some good info. With that said even the so called paid insiders get it wrong.

The Univ. of Alabama is very good at the PR game. Case in point, the way we used ESPN to manipulate voting to our advantage. In fact, the public relations department/program at UA is routinely ranked among the top 5 in the country. Last year they were the #1 ranked program in the country.

Serious question. This is not a "bash Auburn" thread. But, it was all over sports talk radio in Montgomery on both the morning and lunch time shows and there were lots of comments that something is going wrong on the Plains. I'm wanting to hear from Auburn fans as to their take on what is happening.
The problem is you are listening to sports radio in the state of Alabama. It is 100% say or do whatever it can to hurt Auburn. It is stupid that grown men take a game to heart to the point they hate buildings, I guess when you don't have anything better in life you can always feel that your buildings are better than others. I call them ballless idiots, but that's a rant for another day.
There is nothing going wrong on at AU. Stoops is one of several Chizik interviewed for the job, Chizik has a timeline for the hire and it isn't influenced by state media or anything else. He wants to go a different direction with the defense than its current course or obvious reasons. On offense Gus left for a HC job, you don't see the media talking about McElwain going to CSU do you? No. What about the fact Saban intentionally tanked McElwain going to Memphis?
Or could it be to keep the press focused on something else other than the investigation into Richardson?
