It is getting towards crunch time for recruiting so why not cause a stir over things that happen all the time. I personally don't think it is more then coaches leaving and a kid decommitting and getting blown out of proportion. What do I know I have no inside info nor do I belong to any premium sites?

I thought it was a good thing that Roof "decided" to move on.
Apparently now, he was a good coach and jumped a sinking ship.
Who knew?

Longshore has a Bama background, but he is critical of them too. He is more anti-Auburn than a Bammer, in my opinion.
I always thought that Josh Moon was more sympathetic to Auburn, though. Of course, he is critical of everyone. I wouldn't call him a Bammer, though.
This is from someone who listens to them all quite a bit and is an LSU fan.

My favorite is the rumor that Dye went into the locker room after the IB and told Roof and Malzahn to kick rocks. You've even got an admin over on bamamag perpetuating that shite.

See, Malzahn would not leave for Arkie State unless there are big problems at Auburn... You must see the dots, you must see that....
I graduated in 77 and every year, the Bama Media say that Auburn is in trouble or the coach is leaving.. Just Bammers being Bammers...
---------------
Truth: Auburn has some challenges and has had a bad year since winning the NC... 7-5, loss to our biggest rivals, a RB that smoked some wacki tobacci (that happens at a lot of schools), a defensive coach who was allowed to have a soft landing, then you have Malzhan..lose you best recruit to Bama. Add it all up and the media has all it needs..
UA school of journalism is working well for us.

I think it's just a confluence of events. First you have Ted Roof leave, even though 99.9% of all Auburn people thought and wanted him to leave. Next Malzahn takes a head coaching job, although not the destination most imagined, it was no secret that he wanted to be a head coach somewhere. Then the Yeldon kid decides to go to Bama. Honestly, it's probably a smart move on his part due to the number of running backs that we have got coming in this spring and particularly so if Dyer and Ontario come back.
And as to Stoops, I wanted to think he was coming, but I think what NGT said is true, he was using Auburn to get a better contract from FSU. I wonder if Jimmy Sexton is his agent.

My favorite was the rumor that Cam Newton was payed to come play at AU.

90% certain one of those isn't coming back.
50/50 that both of them leave.

Well, Auburn is getting a lot of bad PR right now. I've been out of the loop mostly, but there seems to be a lot of smoke that people are saying is evidence of a fire.
If past history serves correct, people will keep blowing smoke until everyone is convinced there is a fire and a domino effect will occur. Chizik and the Auburn people need to get out in front of this story and create some good news before Christmas, in my opinion. Maybe a coordinator hire or something.
Of course, a bowl win will be good news and that will remove the bad taste in people's mouths from the season. If Auburn loses the bowl game and the bad news continues, it could affect recruiting.
At this point, I am pulling for Auburn. I want LSU to beat them every year, but a strong Auburn helps to counterbalance Alabama in the SEC West and makes things more interesting overall.

We'll see. I honestly think it would be a mistake for A) Dyer to leave AU and go to small school to play and B) for Ontarrio to go into the draft at this point.

The longer Chizik drags out his coaching searches, the more negative rumors and heat will build on Auburn.
The media is pro-Bama in this state (and outside to some degree) and that's just the way it is.

I take it were not yet to the point where the Aubs can admit he was paid.

It is amazing how the PR departments for universities don't do a better job of knowing their environment. Auburn could be running circles around Alabama if they would get out ahead of stories and make their own news.
Auburn's problem is that they sit around waiting for respect. They aren't going to get it from the media or opposing fans in Alabama. They need to take it. They are Auburn Freaking University, a top 10-15 program in college football history and the defending national champions, one of the Big 6 in the SEC and sometimes they act like Ole Miss. I'm talking about the leadership, not the fans.
Auburn needs to forget that Alabama even exists and be who they are. Build on the championship and get back to playing smash mouth football and competing for SEC West titles. I usually like to see other SEC West teams go down, but it is kind of aggravating me to hear all of this "Auburn is in decline" talk. The SEC West should be run by LSU, Alabama, and Auburn while the rest jockey for position.
Just my opinion.

Yeah, absolutely. I just wonder if he wouldn't be better served playing another year, and possibly putting up better numbers which would enhance his draft value.

Auburn has the classic national title hangover syndrome.
Remember the 2008 LSU football season - RP booted, no capable QB on the roster, bad def coordinators, etc. It happens to the best programs. Even Bama had it last year although they returned McElroy and Ingram and were still a loaded team.

our issues are just magnified because the program we share the state with is playing for it's 2nd NC in three years....
Teams change coordinators.... Tuberville did the same thing in 2002... he hit on a couple good ones -- Petrino and Chizik.

You may have missed it, but the NCAA pissed that fire out already.
Someone show me some solid concrete evidence of something being seriously wrong, other than a couple negative events that happened to occur in short period of time and then I'll start believing we have some issues. Roof was helped get another job so he wouldn't have to be publicly fired. Malzahn took a head coaching job, which we all knew was bound to happen sooner or later, Dyer did some really stupid shite and Chizik did what he had to do about that, and Yeldon was swayed by bama. I'm not really sure what else there is that's been somewhat negative.
As for Chizik dragging his feet, I'd prefer he take his time than rush to hire someone just to placate some complaining fans. If Saban doesn't get an OC in another week or two is he dragging his feet also?
