That's not even close to being right. Alabama punted to LSU, the returner was hit right around the time the ball arrived, he fumbled, flags were thrown, LSU clearly recovered.
Refs got together and waved off the flag for kick catch interference, and tried to give the ball to Alabama even though we had clearly recovered.

dude is a pretty massive piece of shite.

of course you don't. It doesn't benefit you. LSU fans are here to remind you of the way Birmingham HQ'd refs have been screwing LSU for years. It's more egregious with Auburn but you fricks get a way with a shiteload of OL holding. You can say that is the way ALL OL are taught (which is BS) and also that it's because Bama is disciplined - (yea right!)
Both your team and AU get a shite load of breaks & no calls when it comes to LSU. It's crap!
refs have it out for LSU
Acutally the reason I dont remember that game is because we went from a #3 preseason ranking to a 3-8 final record. By the time the LSU game came around our team was in shambles, and I was drinking heavily during the games with no expectation to even be competitive. I know we lost, just like every other game that year... just dont remember the details. dick
Go through a 3-8 season and see how well you remember those games

You are the definition of a HOMER. Nice, we more like you around these parts. Please tell all your friends to sign up.
What did I say about Brodie Croyle?
That he got injured during the 2004 season and didn't play in the LSU game? How "Homer" of me to speak the facts
Did LSU have anything to do with Brodie going down for the year with a shoulder injury against Georgia and not playing in the Bama/LSU game or 90% of the other games in 2004?
WTF are you talking about moron?

Watch that TR touchdown run up the mddle vs Tenn (the one where he stops to wait for his linemen) You can literally see Barret Jones sp? tackle the linemen he is blocking with the referee looking dead at him. It is absolutely hilarious how perfect the form tackle is.
please take your whining and weak arse flames to another thread
this HAD been a pretty decent thread until your bitch arse showed up to spew conspiracy theories and blame every LSU loss and Bama win on the refs

That 9-3 record in 1997 included punk-slappings at the hands of Notre Dame and Ole Miss.
The 1997 squad had the potential to be an SEC Champion with correct coaching.
By LSU standards, this was a mediocre squad.

I see what you are getting at. By Todays LSU standards this was a mediocre squad. However for the 90s, it was about as good as it got for LSU was it not?
your original comment was about how a mediocre LSU team destoryed Bama in 97. My only point was, that "mediocre" LSU team was about 1000 times better than the 4-7 1997 Alabama team that lost to La Tech the week before the LSU game

I was at the 99 game. If I recall Booger McFarlane had a fumble recovery and ran it back for a TD.
I was also at the 91 and 92 game in red stick. if you recall we played down there 2 yrs in a row when the SEC expanded. Both of those games were not close, but I remember the 91 game the most becuase we forgot where we parked and walked around the lake about 8 times. the 92 game, if I recall, featured a punt return by David Palmer, he stopped right in front of me as we were in the end zone on the 1st row. I couldnt believe how small he was. I remember having a conversation with some great LSU fans about their program. Those were some dark days for Tiger fans. Was always treated great down there.

Beat Bama AND the refs last season.

Josh reed destroying bama in front of the largest LSU crowd ever up to that time and I think that was the jumbotron 4th down too, where they kept replaying it was LSU's ball. Man my throat was hoarse for week after that.

quote:I for one don't. Frankly I get sick and tired of LSU fans harping on it. It wasn't like that non-call would have given us an automatic victory. The Tide (literally and figuratively) had aleady turned against us and our offense was pitiful that year. I seriously doubt that if that if we had gotten the ball at that point that we would have been able to do anything with it.

2000 when LSU broke 'the streak'.
At one point during that game, there was a fumble by Bama, recovered by LSU. The refs got confused and tried to give the ball to the Bama offense.
I swear it seemed like to me that if they did that there was going to be a riot right then. Throughout the stadium when the ref set the ball down and pointed Bama's way, there was a collective sound that resembled WTF?
The LSU players started gesturing at the then new jumbotron, refs looked up, saw their error, did the right thing, then the streak was over.
The 80ish year old lady sitting behind me sounded like she would tear the ref limb from limb if that possession got marked the wrong way and I told her I had her back. :)

2001 is what you are talking about right?
that was a BEAT DOWN on our secondary. It was like we were only playing with a front 7 and no DBs. Maybe the most helpless i've ever felt watching a Bama game, we just couldn't do ANYTHING to stop ya'll through the air
what an ugly ugly game for bama fans
ETA: Nevermind, after re-reading you were obviously talking about a game in Baton Rouge... '00 maybe

Don't bother, I already tried
