One of the great things about growing up a Bama fan was that every "even" numbered year you knew the Tide was gonna win. 96 and 98 stand out. Dubose trolled LSU

96 was actually Stallings last season

DuBose went 2-2 against LSU (97 L, 98 W, 99 W, 00 L) DuBose ended the win streak in Baton Rouge that lasted like 30 years (i think there was 1 tie in there somewhere)

2-2 against LSU, and I seem to not even remember a convincing win in those 2.

I meant he trolled them in 98. LSU fans were ready to explode thinking the streak was over. Had to wait 2 more years!

But you have to admit the call was blown. Hell, looking back it might not have even mattered, but it was a chance for a game winning drive taken away. And indirectly led to y'all scoring.

one day you'll get over it

We got over 2004

Consider that a "make up call" 5 years in the making

lol

thats not really that "mediocre" , at least compared to the 97 Bama team that went 4-7 and lost to La Tech the week before the LSU game

A pass interference call early in the 3rdQ of a game you lost by 2+ touchdowns vs 50 yards away from the GW touchdown in the final minutes??

Holy shite dude

really? ya'll still wouldn't have won that game with Pick 6 going against our D

Yeah, at least "yall" would have earned that NC, instead of it being handed to you in the replay booth

LOL

speaking of being "handed" a NC....

how about losing 2 games to unranked teams and still getting into the title game? Can a team that loses to Kentucky really call itself a "national champion" ?

but... but... spencer pennington was so good at leading comebacks against really crappy teams... just like jarrett lee. so by LSU fan logic we got screwed we would have won that game

its an argument equally as lame as your 2009 PP argument. And that is what you LSU fans still sound like whining about that game to this day

In '04, we lost by 14 but had that INT been a TD instead it would have been a tie game going into the 4th and we had all the momentum. But it probably wouldn't have mattered in the end as we were a very under-matched team. Just like it wouldn't have mattered if PP got that INT against us in 2009. And to think Saban was coaching both of those Defense

Winning in Death Valley in 2008. I was in the MDB, and after the game we played "We Are the Champions" since the win clinched the SEC West and a trip to Atlanta (we had played it as part of a Queen show earlier in the year). Playing that, while holding up #1 and breaking the bleachers during Rammer Jammer that night are easily top 5 memories of my years in the MDB.

The blocked FG to force overtime in 2008 was the loudest I've ever heard Tiger Stadium. It was raining coke for about three straight minutes.

The botched call on the PP pick sucked, but I don't think it hurt as much as losing in OT the year before.

2007 was classic in every sense of the word. And the Peterson reverse with Jefferson leading the way was one of the top 3 moments from 2010.

to be honest he was done for before that sack and fumble. You could tell from the time we got the ball back JPW was freaking out and we were gonna go 3 and out. It was over for our offense at that point we were just hanging on for dear life, and the only way we'd win was if our D stopped LSU. But JPW couldn't even go 3 and out and let us punt he went ahead and decided to give LSU the ball inside the 10... and that was that. Then he did equally terrible on the ensuing possession after LSU took the lead

After that punt return by Javy, we had nothing left in the tank offensively. We were holding on by a thread and JPW had completely fallen apart by that point. He was a sitting duck for LSUs defense

blocked kick in 08 even though we lost, that was nuts.

That was pretty awesome. There had to be 30k people who quietly called (hoped) that to themselves, which made the roar even better.

I've been to the last 9 games, so picking from those, '02 for the worst and '05 for the best. '07 is a good but distant second place for me.

'11 will supplant '05 as the best

Once gain I have to repeat myself. That play was early in the 3rdQ. You have no clue what would have happened the next 11 minutes before the 4thQ started.

Yeah, you've done a GREAT job of proving that

It truly is comical watching you try to compare these 2 plays
