We Are Missing The Big Offseason Story Thanks to LSU: Georgia is a Dumpster Fire

So most of the Rant, me included, have been flipping shite for days because the LSU DC search is even happening. And while this is fun because no one melts like a corndog, it is making us miss a much bigger story than LSU losing a single coordinator that doesn't matter as much because of the talent level on that side of the ball:
Georgia is on tDecline long-term.
Their record last year is the obvious proof, but for any individual year you can make excuses. The real facts are between the cracks, like how they lost a coordinator because of pay.
"But LSU did too" you say. Yeah but LSU was already paying that guy crazy money, they just didn't want to pay insane money. There is a huge difference between that and an unwillingness to pay what is average money, which was the Georgia situation. We poke fun at LSU, but at worst they have an incompetent AD. At Georgia they have an administration that OBVIOUSLY doesn't understand what it will take for Georgia to compete with SEC West programs (or even just UF) going forward.
That is a quote from an article that talks about how Mark is now below average in SEC pay. That quote would drive me nuts if I was a Georgia fan. Mark is happy with it, because he knows he has it made with low expectations:

But if I was a Georgia fan I would NOT agree with Mark. I would be worried about an administration that can't make SEC-level short-term (not paying Mark or the staff) or long-term (where is the IPF plans?) decisions. I would worry about being left behind, and that my state was about to become nothing but a feeder for more succesful SEC teams.
Everyone gets the same cut of the SEC Network money, and Georgia must be wanting to funnel theirs into mens rowing or whatever the frick ISN'T the cash cow that drives the whole AD. Nothing wrong with a Vanderbilt wanting to do that, but Georgia is supposed to be a leg of the SEC East's table. If they suck long-term because the admin wants to go into Miami-mode it could hurt all of us.
Thoughts?
Oh before it happens: Deflect deflect deflect all you want Georgia fans.
Yes my Aggies had an up and down season, and yes we are whatever mud you want to throw. I don't care about your deflections because I know my university is committed to the future. Instead of deflection, we would all love some insight of what the hell is going on over there that your admin don't want to play ball.

"Each school has to make a determination as they see fit," Georgia athletic Greg McGarity said by phone Monday afternoon. "Salaries aren't going down, obviously, and I think that's just the way college athletics is right now....Just because others are doing things doesn't mean that Georgia has to do anything," McGarity said.

You have your own dumpster fire to deal with, but I'm glad we are on your mind

Mike bobo said there was no amount of money that could have kept him at UGA. Once the job was offered to him he was gone. Not to mention that we then gave Pruitt a 1.3 mill a year raise.
Why did you devote so much time to a post so easy to refute?

What has CMR done to deserve a raise?

We are a dumpster fire with a top 5 incoming recruiting class but you guys can't get anyone to come be your DC, going to have a bad incoming class, and lost to bert 17-0 (a team we shellacked).

Are you certain this helps your argument?

Below average pay for a below average coach.

At least you figured that out unlike your fellow dogs.

Not really, we are happy with a new DC and better than average recruiting.
But I knew the deflections would come.

Pretty sure we've extended Richt's contract, given Pruitt a substantial raise, and hired a former NFL OC since this quote. Also, the IPF seems to be moving along with the all deliberate speed that we expected. Bobo leaving had nothing to do with $$$.
Not only do you not know what you're talking about, you've wasted a considerable amount of time pretending that you do.
With that said, I do find it laughable that schools like aTm, Ole Miss and Tennessee pay their coaches what they do. Neither of the 3 have won anything.

Falcons 2, Saints 0, 2014
Is this what's bothering you?

Do they pay by amount of talent squandered?

I would take Georgia current position over the Aggies in a second. We play in a weaker conference. We have a better recruiting class. We play better defense and we have Nick Chubb.
The Aggies will be lucky to finished 4th in the West

Well see I didn't know that.
What I knew, from Google-able sources, is the guy who you hired to replace him objectively sucks outside of the recruiting "He was in the NFL" angle.

Yeah yall got a shell shock and reacted, but that is not the same as being proactive with a longterm plan.

I posted a link, and no one has refuted me with that level of source. I have NO axe to grind against Georgia, I mean I hate the Falcons but I couldn't care less about Georgia.
Its just weird seeing a so-called "Big 6" SEC team with 1990's values on how to run the program.

Not gotten fired in the SEC. That is just where the market is.

I agree that on the surface things look fine at Georgia, but I watched as a nearby Texas program fall apart despite top 5 incoming classes due to misplaced priorities. So it can happen, and there are clues it might for those who look a little harder.
