He has only been at auburn for 1 year. His defense was good and a huge improvement over the past few years. Muachamp probably deserves his share of credit for the improvements last season, but so far so good with Steele.

Yes and Steele did the same thing at Auburn, except he performed better Going from 54th to 7th vs 41st to 5th.

In overtime after Chavis' famous 4th quarter defense.

Well that's good for y'all. He's still an arse coach to us and can really prove himself this season if he can keep up with that.

LSU prepared to match Kevin Steele's 3-year, $4M offer from Auburn

What's really telling is that aranda comes in and with the same players, in his first year, fielded a way better defense than steele did at lsu. Aranda is a much betterm dc, if you don't think so, you're a dumbass auburn fan.

A source with knowledge of the situation said LSU is prepared to match Auburn's offer of a three-year, $4 million contract for Steele. Steele has one year remaining on his two-year, $2 million contract with LSU.

My mistake. It was a 2 year deal with the Miles clause. And guess what? There was no matching. They let him walk and got Aranda. Auburn got the raw end of the deal (at the time at least).

Steele is a bad HC, but good DC. Aranda is the best in CFB, and I hope A&M gives him a call when Sumlin is canned at the end of the year

LSU pass defense

Chavis 2014: 10 TD 10 INT 164.2 YPG

Steele 2015: 22 TD 10 INT 224.3 YPG

Aranda 2016: 9 TD 9 INT 197.2 YPG

The only area that Steele is worth a damn is in run defense.

IMO he's better than third and chavis, but he couldn't hold Aranda's jock. LSU will only allow Auburn to score 4 fg's, but now LSU actually has a competent offense. Maybe one day Auburn will win again in Death Valley

Chavis could stop offenses for 2 downs or 3 quarters. Steele's defense got torched the entire game.

right, Our DC did better than yours in terms of improved success, but we got the raw end of the deal.

Right, so that's why they got Aranda nearly instantly after they let Steele go after the bowl game. You're delusional as frick.

Are you saying Steele > Aranda?

There aint no doubt. He's going to be a good DC and eventually HC down the road.
