You still haven't provided the numbers to back your claims.

LSU turns a small profit on baseball while trying, turns a profit in men's basketball without trying.

If Rupp holds 24K, then 400,000 / 24,000 = 16.67 games

All UK has to do is play 17 home games and they sell over 400,000 K. UK plays at least 1 WBB game in Rupp every year (this year it was Duke and they SOLD OUT the venue) and at times have played multiple games there.

From this LINK comes this nugget

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
With 23,099 fans per game at Rupp Arena, the University of Kentucky led the country in average attendance
Syracuse followed with 22,439, the University of Louisville had 21,571 and North Carolina 19,350

A) Only LSU baseball plays in Box, they do not play softball there
B) M Basketball is #2 in producing revenue, and LSU has fallen since Dale left.
C) W Basketball is #3 and LSU falls well below UT and UK
D) Baseball is #4

Since Rupp holds BOTH M and W games and Box holds only baseball (no softball) the venue (RUPP) adds far more to the bottom line than Box.

This year UK men played 20 Men's basketball games and 1 Women's basketball game = 21 games. If the average was just 20K per game (probably below the actual number) then 21 games x 20,000 tickets sold = 420,000

420,000 > 400,000

quote:

The total amount of premium seating available to LSU among all sports facilities is greater than that of either UT or UK.

Not doubting UK as they have no boxes or suites in Rupp

For UT did you double the numbers for UT basketball? They have premium seating for both UT Men and UT women. As stated before (and a question you ducked) how many seats in Box cost over 1,000 per season?

Fun fact: LSU has more suites in our baseball stadium than either UT or UK has in their basketball and baseball facilities combined.

Care to back that up? I have been in all 3 venues
Rupp has 0, so I get that but after the TB upgrade the whole upper sideline in TB is all suites and it sure looks like a lot of them.

FWIW, UK has premium suites for softball. Not sure how many other schools in the SEC have such a setup for softball.

Revenue is nice obviously but our admins maximize profits by spending less.

Tiger Park, where LSU softball plays, has it's own suites and regularly sells out.

M Basketball is #2 in producing revenue, and LSU has fallen since Dale left. W Basketball is #3 and LSU falls well below UT and UK

Men's and women's basketball currently make more revenue off TV money, but baseball will be getting more in the future with the new contract.

Baseball is #4

Da fuq? LSU baseball is in a class by itself when it comes to revenue.

TB suites = 32 x 2 = 64

If Box has even half of 64 it would surprise me. I thought they had 26 or 28 when they built it.

64 > 28

I am going to declare UT the winner in this pissing war.

Again, across all sports facilities, LSU has more premium seating revenue than every school in the SEC except Arkansas.

Which is why LSU is #8, Tennessee is #10 on the list. And since LSU will be adding 8,000 seats to it's football stadium this year...including 66 suites (23 capacity) and 3,000 club seats...LSU will climb even higher on the list.

Agreed!

Ask 100 folks on the Rant which they would rather have if they could pocket the money to only 1 of these opportunities

#1 UK basketball venue revenue (tickets, donations, concessions, parking, et al)
#2 LSU baseball venue revenue (tickets, donations, concessions, parking, et al)

Again, how may seats in Box come with a 1,000 dollar donation attached to the seat? Here is TB and all those lower seats in maroon come with 1,000 + ticket cost price tag. LINK

What seats in this pic come with a 1,000 dollar annual "donation"?

We have a few.

Have a few for tennis as well.

Surprisingly, none for the intramural fields.

Already answered. And $1,000 per annum is way, way low.

Alex Box Stadium offers three unique Premium Seating opportunities, Alex Box Suites, Champions Club, and the Tiger Terrace.

And keep in mind, that while LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center has no suites, it does offer premium seating:

Also, forgot to mention, LSU is in the process of building the largest Indoor Tennis Facility in the SEC...

quote:

THE NEW LSU TENNIS FACILITY

The New LSU Tennis Facility is a project years in the making. The LSU Men's and Women's Tennis teams are one of the only teams in the SEC that do not currently have indoor facilities to both practice and play in during bad weather. This new facility will not only provide the LSU Teams with access to indoor facilities but will increase LSU's practice time, which will allow the teams to compete with other SEC schools in recruiting the best upcoming student-athletes.

quote:

A new tennis facility serves the second development funded by TAF. Located south of Alex Box Stadium and adjacent to AgCenter LaHouse, the $8.5 million, 73,000 square foot building will boast six indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts when complete. The design meets NCAA regulations for nighttime and televised play on ESPN. “Tiger Athletics visited peer institutions and used specialty design consultants for this championship play arena,” Emmett David, associate athletic director of Facility and Project Management said. Construction on the project will begin in May.

The Daily Reveille

TAF

Pretty sure premium seating will built in, since LSU is on a drive to add premium seats to all sports facilities.

FYI, they already broke ground...

Going back to the original point. If UT can win 8 games a year, and maintain decent numbers in M and W basketball, they would be in the Top 5!

Consider the simple observation
LSU is #8 during the peak of their sports value
UT is #10 at the bottom of theirs

ps, if UK does rebuild / replace Rupp and adds suites it would add 20 million to 40 million to their yearly income. If they are sitting at 96 million and LSU is sitting at 117 million then that gap could close very quickly. Remember, Rupp has no suites and K Fund "donations" and have the following categories per person :

Champions = 25K donation per year
Elite = 50K donation per year
Hall of Fame = 75K per year

LSU may have quantity, but other schools may derive more revenue because the cost is higher.

So you are saying every seat in Box comes with a 1,000 "donation" or just selected ones like sections A - K?

Well, consider LSU isn't going anywhere, is adding more seats, and continues to add new facilities and more premium seating.

Our future is pretty bright here,

Those. And like I said, ABS will be expanded in either the next round of TAF improvements or the one after.

We just added sand volleyball, so we need to either build a stadium or renovate the current tennis stadium. I believe we'll choose the latter. The holdup with the latter is waiting until the new tennis facility is built, which is in progress.

I agree that is part of the equation, but so is winning. Suppose LSU falls below Alabama, Auburn, and Texas A&M in football for a decade like UT hitting their slump? What happens if the lesser children of the West experience winning at the top levels? What happens if the pendulum swings back to the Eats for a decade?

Most importantly, what happens if the next generation of LSU fans "opt out" of live games to watch it on TV? Seats of Gold : will your grandchildren attend live games when they become parents and grandparents?

What I was asking is how many seats in Box fall in this range?

If Box holds 10K (I know the actual number is a few hundred more) how many of those 10,000 seats require a 1,000 'donation"?

100.0% = 10,000 seats
50.00% = 5,000 seats
10.00% = 1,000 seats

The question I was looking to have answered was what is that number? not what are the levels, which is how you seemed to respond.
