What makes 5th down worse was that McCartney was a MU guy. Charles Johnson was playing QB as Hagan was hurt. MU had an All American TE that didn't play trying to kill the Side Judge. And then top it off Stull let it go on without throwing a fit.

The surprising (to me) assessments of CLM by many (not a few) in Tigahland seems to suggest this. I don't understand it.

It's amazing to me that , to more than a few TIGER "fans", the best LSU SEC season is negated because we lost to possibly the best Bama team of all time. A team we went 1-1 against. It makes me wonder if those fans remember the mid to late 90's. I know that with success, expectations change, but some see the 2011-2012 season as a failure.

1. Jan 96 Fiesta Bowl against Nebraska for the national title

Unfortunately, I was there. I was so upset I didn't get out of bed or leave the house for 5 days afterward.

I was at that game also. By about the middle of the 4th qtr, I knew we weren't going to win. I was just after that one.

89 Ole Miss, 84 Miami, and 85 Rutgers games have to be there also.

It is a bad moment if you get embarrassed though.

In hindsight though, Miami was going to kick the crap out of whoever they played in the title game that year. Still would've been nice to have another SEC title though.

It's because it was Bama. If it had been anyone else it wouldn't have been as bad.

We had already beaten that team on their home field. Also any other teams' fans can sy what they want. LSU or Bama would've stomped the shite out of any other team.

I agree. Also what was at stake. We could've had one of the greatest seasons in modern football history. Had we won we would've beaten 4 top 3 teams. 3 away from home.

I haven't read through this whole thread, but Clint Stoerner's fumble was the most fricked up thing I can remember, and I've really been trying to forget that shite.

No, no, and no. None of those losses actually hurt the program. In 1994 we still ended up 12-1. That's a fantastic season. We weren't gonna get a NC anyway. 2008 set us up for the 2009 season. Florida was very good. In no way was that a top worst moment. 2010 Iron Bowl, close, but I think that game helped drive the 2011 season as well. Bad loss, but there have been much worse.

1. Clint, don't fumble that damn ball and I truly feel we would have steamrolled Miss St the following week. Our entire state/team wasn't the same after that fumble. They ran it down our throats after that.

2. Not axing Houston Nutt until we finally did. He is good to rebuild an EXTREMELY shitty situation but after that you have to cut him loose.

3. Arkansas sluts and an unfaithful coach.

4. Reggie Fish against Florida.

5. USC beating us 70-17. Never seen that big of gap of talent b/t bcs conference teams ever. They were on pace for over 250 points at one point. I was actually happy when they got less than 20 yards.

6. Trindon Holiday after DMAC goes for 80.

7. Florida pays refs on about 5 blown calls that gave them the game.

8. Reggie Herring calling 2 consecutive fake punts. 1st with Reggie Fish and 2nd (after a flag to back us up) with fish then pitching the the MIDDLE OF THE FIELD to our FB Farrod Jackson. WTF?

9. Mallett throwing the bama game away.

10. Did I mention Reggie Herring calling 2 fake punts in a row?

11. London Crawford fumbling the ball in the middle of the field @ Bama. That air sometimes can really pack a punch. It's like he forgot he needed the football and kept running.

5. 1990 loss to the Citadel: Self-explanatory, not only a loss to a small in-state D2 school but probably one of the most arrogant D2 fan bases you'll come across.
