Excellence Riveria Cancun is great. I am sure the other's are fantastic, but I can vouch for that one.
El Dorado Royale and Casitas is also great, slightly below ERC IMO. ...

My wife and I visit Cancun at least once a year and love it. We are going with our 2 young kids (4 and 10) for Spring Break this year and staying at Dreams Natura, we have stayed at Dreams properties with kids in the past and have been pleased.

I have a 99 TJ that I drive offroad (very little with 2 small kids) and a 2008 2Runner.... I would love to grab a ~2015 4runner and take the 5k for my 08, but the 15's are still going for like 25K, just seems crazy to me. ...

Portland Maine or Boston IMO.
Both are great for a weekend. Portland slightly harder to get to and less to do, but good breweries and food. Boston is great, esepcially if you can catch a Sox game.
NYC is great, but a little overwhelming and less relaxing for a romantic getway IMO. ...
