no 2010 Iron Bowl?

you would think so, but sandwhiched in between national title years, it doesnt hurt me as bad as the others on the list. the others either hurt the program worse or were more embarassing for me personally. alot of bama fans would have it on there, just not me.

Never led in that game and didn't win any polls for 1974.

1. 1960: Mizzou was ranked #2 and undefeated heading into its last game of the season against Kansas. Mizzou lost the game 7-23, at home. Later, it was revealed that Kansas cheated by using ineligible players - but it was too late and the damage was done. Mizzou went on to win the Orange Bowl, but the blemish against Kansas prevented Mizzou from claiming its first and only national championship.
2. The Fifth Down Game, 1990: Mizzou lost to eventual national champion, Colorado on the last play of the game, surrendering a touchdown to Colorado after the officiating crew gave Colorado a fifth down to push the ball in. The game should have ended with a turnover on downs and a victory for Mizzou.
3. 1979-2002, the 24 game losing streak against Nebraska: Two decades plus of beatdowns, this epic loss streak hurt.
4. The Flea Kicker Game, 1997: Then #1 ranked Nebraska escaped Mizzou with a win after one of their receivers kicked a ball in the air to save it from touching the ground, leading to another Nebraska receiver scooping it up for a touchdown. The catch should not have counted, and it allowed Nebraska to go on to win the game and a national championship that year.
5. The Big 12: The Big 8 expanded in 1996, adding the four Texas schools. What followed was a decade and a half of Texas and its athletic department dominating the conference. Mizzou was routinely slighted in bowl selection and the conference suffered from uneven revenue sharing and third-tier rights, eventually leading to old Big 8 rivals, Nebraska and Colorado leaving the conference.
6. The Bob Stull & Larry Smith Era: From the mid-80s until the arrival of Gary Pinkel, Mizzou was the definition of college football disappointment. Year after year of losing seasons and recruits & coaches not living up to hype. From 1985 to 1999, Mizzou went just 71-107, featuring just 2 winning seasons.
7. 2009 Texas Bowl: This shouldn't be so high, but I was there, unfortunately. After scoring on the first play of the game to go up 7-0, Mizzou got outscored by a mediocre Navy team, 6-35.
8. 2007 BCS Slight: After going 12-2, winning the Big 12 North, and beating kU in a #2 vs #3 match-up, Mizzou got cheated from its first modern BCS birth when Kansas got the nod to go to the Orange Bowl.
9. 2010 Insight Bowl: 10-2 Mizzou shite the bed against a mediocre Iowa team. Mizzou lost 24-27 with a late interception by Gabbert, leading to an Iowa score.
10. Being Mizzou: The school has been a staple of mediocrity in college football. It has never really lived up to its potential, being a well-financed program with little to no competition in a state of 6 million people.

you're right about leading. Wrong about the polls. USC won the coaches poll title that year with an 10-1-1 record. bama finished 11-1. if we win against notre dame, we win the coaches poll.

No,you're wrong about your wording. Had Alabama won that game they'd won all polls (AP and UPI)considering they were #1 going into the game over Oklahoma who was on probation.

hardly. we were number 2 in AP poll going into the game. i doubt we would have overtaken oklahoma, but we could have. what there is no doubt of is that we would have definitely won the coaches poll had we won.

1. Hiring Curley Hallman
2. Allowing Curley Hallman to coach for 4 miserable seasons.
3. Losing to Miami (OH) in a monsooon in 1986 while ranked 8th in the country. My dad was so pissed after that game, I remember every curse word he said on the drive back home to Lafayette.
4. 1994 Auburn- Up 23-9 going into the 4th quarter, Curley Hallman decides to go with the run and shoot offense and Jamie Howard throws 5 interceptions in the 4th quarter.
5. 1993 Florida 58-3 pure good old fashion arse whoopin.
6.2000 Loss to UAB.
7. 2012 BCS National Championship Game
8. 2007 Arkansas Loss
9. 2005 Tennessee Monday night game after Hurrican Rita
10. Miami 1989- Loss 44-3

i was at this game. it was like a hurricane literally passed over the stadium. i sat there with my grandmother through the whole thing because she was scared to walk down the steps in the downpour. the rest of my a-hole family went back to the RV as soon as it started raining.

Vandy has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to this type of list:

1. Most recent conference championship predates the SEC: Southern Conference, 1923

2. Only finished one season as a ranked team: in 1948, #12 in the AP poll after an 8–2–1 season

3. Vandy began playing football in 1890, 12 years before the first bowl game (Rose) was held (1902). Over the 1st 100 years of bowls, Vandy has only played in five. No other SEC school has been to fewer than 15 bowls.

4. The Rod Dowhower era, 1995-1996. Overall record: 4-18 (.182), SEC record: 1-15 (.063).

5. The Watson Brown era, 1986-1990. Overall record: 10-45 (.182), SEC record: 4-29 (.121).

6. Robbie Caldwell and his 2010 season.

7. Zac Stacy's goal-line fumble returned for a TD by Arkansas last year.

8. 1999. UGA @ Vandy. 4th Quarter and Vandy is leading 17-10 and has played great defense all day. Vandy has a 4th down on their own 21. Vandy's "Rocket Surgeon" head coach Woody Widenhofer decides this is the perfect time to run a fake punt (possibly the worst call ever made by a college football coach in the history of the sport). Did I mention that it was 4 & 16? Needless to say, Vandy did not convert, the Dawgs waltz in on 3 plays after Woody's gift, Vandy is deflated and UGA goes on to win 27-17. One of the most disappointing games I ever saw because we played well only to be foiled by a stupid coach...

9. My era at Vandy: 1978-1981. Overall record: 8-36 (.182), SEC record: 1-23 (.042).
Some cumulative scores during this stretch:
Bama 173 - VU 13
UT 161 - VU 72
UGA 156 - VU 41
UK 130 - VU 32

And yes, the SEC win was against Ole Miss...

10. And the lowlight of my era: Marching at halftime of the 1978 Georgia-Vanderbilt game and then having to watch the infamous "Halftime Wedding" which followed, in which a "lucky" UGA couple got married in a three minute ceremony during halftime and drove off in a red convertible through an UGA band formation. We went on to lose 31-10. I tell you it warped my brain...

8. Overall Bowl History, 5-12: Didn't get our 1st bowl win until 1995 (Taneyhill led of course) but compared to some schools, 17 appearances isn't crap, 5 bowl wins is something some have accomplished decades ago. Hell Spurrier is tied for most bowl wins as a coach here (with Holtz at 2)

Holy shite. I didn't realize the suck that was USC(east). Did USC(east) not win a bowl when Rodgers won his Heisman?

In no particular order
1) hiring whitworth
2 1973 loss to notre dame by a point. had we won that game, we'd probably be talking about the 73 team as bear's best.
3) 74 loss to notre dame, 13-11 after leading 11-0. Cost us the coaches poll.
4) ncaa doesnt use lube on the monster cock going in our arse.
5) Punt Bama Punt.
6) La monroe
7) Napkins in a bar on bourbon street.
8) 1989 iron bowl. Curry actually was in position for national title.
9) Pensacola Strip clubs
10) january 26th 1983.

94 SEC title game? 08 SEC title game? 2010 Iron Bowl?

You know your fans re becoming entitled when one of their worst moments is losing in THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME. Some LSU fans are becoming exactly what we hated about Bama fans. Entitled.

This was atrocious and if there was ever a final score reversed, it should've been this game. When players play at the collegiate level, you expect the referees to be able to get the downs correct. Especially in the last minute. I would never b able to get over this game.
