Here is a list for SC fans to look at when thinking about where they'll stack up to some other jobs that may open up.

It looks like they'll likely at this point be the 2nd or 3rd best job opening up this year.

Not Sure Miami is a Tier 2 job anymore.

LINK /

For those that don't want to open link SEC teams stack up like so in alpha order.

Tier 1
Alabama
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Tennessee

Tier 2
Auburn
Texas A&M

Tier 3
Arkansas
Missouri
South Carolina

Tier 4
Kentucky
Miss St
Ole Miss

Tier 5

Vandy

Tennessee a Tier 1 Job? Is that why the best they could do was Butch Jones?

Article is wrong because it doesn't have USCw and A&M tied.

This on made me laugh

LSU: Les Miles has been to two national title games. It’s not even clear he can coach on Saturdays. That’s the type of talent one finds in Louisiana.

An SEC coaching job should not be anywhere below Tier 3. Even Vanderbilt. These rankings are dumb.

I think it is only refrencing tangible things like history, facilities, stadium, geography, ect.

Not if your current AD refuses to pay big money or not.

One of your tier 1 schools is distinctly different from the others

I agree Ole Miss could probably move up to tier 3, but I can see why UK, Vandy and Miss St aren't at that level.

If you can't (or aren't willing to) pay the big bucks, you aren't Tier 1...

Well that's kind of an important factor now isn't it Eric?

It's not. Not after the university administration purposefully de-emphasized football. They play in an NFL stadium 40 minutes from campus to crowds of maybe 10,000.

Tennessee is a Tier 1 job for lesbian feminists like Dyke Jones.

These aren't my rankings.

And your right UGA is the outlier as they haven't won a National Championship since the BCS began.

Auburn should probably switch out with them.

With how much SEC coaches get paid this is so true.

After Dooley, yeah, that's the best we could do. It was a horrible situation to walk into. After Kiffin, the situation was bad, really bad, but we could have done better than we did. We actually would have been better off hiring Kippy Brown for a year, stabilizing the program, and going after the big name the following year if Kippy didn't work out.

Hell, after Fulmer "resigned", we could have had Patterson, but we went with Kiffin. Dumbest move Hamilton ever made.

Now, Butch Jones sucks, but this program is in an exponentially better position than it was 3 years ago.

It is but AD's change. If you read the guys description he says he isn't ranking on how the recent teams, coaches or AD's have done but on the tangible building blocks of the program and what tools a coach would have coming in.

AD's can change very quickly so that's probably a good thing not to consider.
