Let me guess he throws little girl temper tantrums, is upset about all the spotlight, and just wants to do what every other college kid does right?

That's a more jealous, mad way to say it, but yeah.

It would be a dream come true for all his upcoming opponents.

It's his fault that he is really good at football and was born into a lot of money and wants to spend said money on trips that most people on here would give their left nut to go on? Got it.

All that is fine, it's just that he needs to understand that some folks are going to be jealous or just hate him for being successful. Every celebrity athlete has people that hate them, that's just how it is. You just have to let it roll off.

I see what you're saying, but the point is that is way easier said than done. That's essentially what the article boils down to.

Cas and others you might enjoy the article - sheds alot of light about the situation, including his father. Eddie - its not just what you are guessing. There is a reason some non Aggies are saying shite I feel sorry for the dude.

All the JFF shite you have read - spend the time for one with a little substance. Its an attack piece - but its obvious.

People are on this kid because he's his own worst enemy right now. Instead of trying to shy away form the spotlight he jumps in the middle of it every time.
If he didn't enjoy the attention of the spotlight, he wouldn't walk into a frat party at aTm's largest rival's campus with a Tebow jersey. He seeks the spotlight and any controversy that comes with his actions. No point in momma and daddy trying to protect him now, they are the one's that have enabled him to live the rockstart lifestyle.

Of course he enjoys the spotlight. Nobody is denying that, or the fact he has to learn with the spotlight there are consequences. The fact of the matter is however that he is young and stupid. He has plenty of time to figure it out, and it won't be easy.

That being said, very few of us would have handled it any differently at 20. The holier than thou attitude people have about his actions are ridiculous.

They definitely aren't out to protect him. If anything, we see where he gets his attention-whorishness from.

what I took away from the article is how little control Manziel's parents have over his situation... not that my parents did when I was a JR in college, but this is obviously different.

the University should handle any and all media requests for Manziel and his family... not some high school drop out.

I get the impression that A&M and sumlin are just holding on for the next four months.

I am 32 years old. After spending several years in college athletics, the military, and in the professional world, I have become a pretty good guy, that has made pretty sound decisions.

12 years ago, I was a bigger shite head than JFF is. Had I been a Heisman Trophy winner as a freshman and twitter, facebook, instagram, modern ESPN, and various other items been around, I would have been the most hated person on the planet.

And I would have AIDS.

This...14 years ago for me.

Ppl want to say you cant use the "Im a kid" excuse...yes you can. There has never been a 20 year old to win the Heisman. Even the Tebow mania was with an older Tim. Wright Thompson should be embarrassed for writing that shock column.

Ingram was the youngest to ever win the heisman...

and he was always pretty humble to my recollection.

I will go one step further and say that the majority of people I know were talking about how if they were Tim Tebow, they would be raging and nailing everything on the planet.

Can't really blame JFF for doing what many of us would be doing at 20, with all that fame.

Looked up his b-day...we share a b-day. He was 19 when he won and turned 20 a few weeks later.

Yes he was...not everyone handles success the same. MI was not from a rich family that allowed him to be more social.
