This thread is a great example of how little most so called SEC fans really are about our own conference. Yes, Tennessee has been down for a while now but the Bama vs. UT series as a whole is one of the premier rivalries in the conference. In fact were you to go back not too far in the past, you'd see both teams were in the exact opposite positions where Bama was nothing more than an automatic win for UT. This rivalry is known for being very streakish with one team then the other dominating the other for years at a time.

Another schedule thread? Worry about LSU. 2 losses to unranked teams, & your best win was against an unranked UF team which got drilled by Mizzou. You haven't played one team currently ranked, have 2 losses & bitch about Alabama's schedule. What a pussy.

The "streakish" nature of the rivalry is probably adding to why so many LSU fans don't see it as major. Most of us remember Tennessee and Florida fighting it out in the late 90's because that game determined who was going to win their division (usually Florida). With Tennessee and Alabama, it has not been that frequent in the last 30 years that both teams were nationally prominent.
But Tennessee/Florida is really not much of a rivalry across the history of the conference. It's a lot like the older Bama fans who hate Notre Dame - at this point you have to be pretty far along in years to remember and resent the times Notre Dame kept us from winning it all.
